Looks like I bought a time bomb, car won't engage in gear. If anyone is looking for a 2003 brg r50 to play with pm me. I have to check the balance I owe but it'll be cheap.
When the car won't engage in gear it is almost always the slave cylinder. They are not that expensive but can be a PITA to bleed as a DIY job.
Yup no pressure because the slave has failed. No pressure you can not put the car into gear. Try pumping it and maybe you will get a little pressure to get into second gear. I drove mine 5 1/2 miles to the dealer in 2nd to get the part replaced. Drive up to speed, push in clutch and coast, then when you get down to 20 mph or so let out clutch and get back up to speed. Do not take it out of gear.
No flavored cigars for me. When I do smoke a cigar I smoke Fuente Fuente OpusX. http://www.arturofuente.com/ffox.html
My dad switched to menthol cigarettes when he was quitting smoking, he hated menthols and thought he would smoke less with them. Dave
That's an OK cigar, but NOT a great one. It is an expensive, overly-priced stick. The are many better-tasting and less expensive cigars by Arturo Fuente out there. I found 2 La Aurora Principe menta [mint] cigars for you to try. They are medium in flavor and actually are not as sickening sweet as the ACID and Natural lines by Drew Estate. If you decide you want something stronger, I'll let you test drive one of the Camacho 10th Anniversarys! I have lots of strong cigars, but am trying to keep the "Tenth Anniversary of the Cigar Salon" theme with the 10th Anniversary cigars I will be handing out.
Thanks I will try a La Aurora Principe menta. I told you I am not a cigar guy, that's your world and I trust you.
Actually, my world consists of my family, my friends, my dog, my MINIs and my cigars. Trusting me is a scary thought, insofaras my trying to find a cigar you will want to smoke because you are not a cigar smoker. I've smoked a ton of those Mentas and had thought I had finished them. When you started talking about menthol flavors, I was hoping that the box of La Auroras I have was the Menta [the closest thing I have to a menthol], but they are Vanilla. Well, crap, I thought, and was moving some other cigars around when two of the Mentas fell out from behind some other cigars. They are the only Mentas I have left, and they are yours. They come already sealed in an aluminum/plastic wrapper, so they are somewhat fresh forever, and one end is cut so all you have to do is to light it up and enjoy the ride. You can still buy them if you decide you like them. There always seems to be a good market for them and they often sell out quickly. They have a lot of flavor offerings and my second choice would be the Vanilla, but the Menta was always my favorite because I had never seen it offered anywhere else.
Thanks man, is it time to leave for the Dragon yet! I am starting to get twitchy I am so excited to go this year.
I'll never forget the first cigar I smoked. Had to pull over and throw up at the exit ramp. It was probably a bit harsh for the first time but it certainly didn't shy me away from them. Back on topic: dragging the car to the shop tomorrow. Will post updates. Considering a getrag swap if it's the worst. Anyone have a spare laying around?
I got the Way tune due to WMW was the only shop that could do the tune without the car being there. Seeing as my Mini was overseas I sent the ECU,key, modules and alarm system to Way,he did the tune then he shipped them back. He also took out the auto door lock feature and some other stuff which I can't remember.
Jan does remote tunes WORLD WIDE! Yes you will also have to buy the flash loader, which isnt cheap, but its doable and you can store a few tunes and change them out yourself when you want...
good to know. I didn't know Jan could do remote tunes. Still the cost of the flashdrive would be a problem for me.....seeing as I have to buy 4 rally tyres at $200 each.
Well I would rather have JAN tune my car then have Way just flash a basic JCW tune he calls "custom" or flash a canned tune he "acquired" from another real tuner. Blanket "Bench" tuning without the car on a Dyno is not tuning, it's guessing. You have to have a car on a Dyno to see and pull the data to see the actual values of a running car because every car is different. This is how a real tuner adjusts and custom tunes a car.
I used a Bluefin ECU reprogrammer on my R50 (same tune as SuperSprint in the US, but a portable plug-in unit). I had to get it shipped from the UK. It adds 5-10 HP in the upper rpm range and helps throttle response a little. Not very cost-effective (cost about $400 over 5 years ago), but better than nothing.
