    Any idea if nbc sports will be doing their 1/2 hour highlights deal again this

    me rally mates from U.A.E are doing the Dakar in a Prado but they said they were starting from Paris on the old route to Dakar so i'm not sure what rally they're doing. The cost is $250,000 which I believe paid for out their pocket....rich folks in Dudai!

    Steve : any clues what rally they are doing as I can't find any links to it.

    Last time they did the Dakar was in 2009

    Wow, they really are going to Dakar! I didn't know anyone was still doing that. I'm unfamiliar with the original routes, are they going through the same areas, more or less?

    all news to me! I thought there was only the Dakar in South America. Looks a fun route and a cost of $250,000 per entry I suppose pretty good value? The lads are running a Toyota, car #232. Ziggy used to run a 450BHP NASCAR engined Land Rover back in the 90's

    A quarter million just to enter? Yikes! I hope that pays for a lot of expenses like transport, fuel, recovery vehicles, etc, for your car(s) in addition to the other logistics, emergency crews and other overhead for the race itself.

    I think that's the total cost to do the rally but when you figure to do around 60km rally in CR the 4WD guys pay out around $3000+ then $250,000 is 10 years of rally in a few weeks. LOL
