I'm not cornfused. When I held my MINI's ECU in my hand it said SIEMENS on it.

Neon's & PT Cruiser's that were sold in Europe. I read somewhere that the whole plant that made them was bought & shipped to China. Not sure how long before we can buy these engines at the local Wally World. It is being used in a Chinese car, the Squatting Tiger GT me thinks.

:cornut: I didn't get this from WIKI or the internet in general. The Chrysler W10 Pentagon Engine is listed on pages 67,106,108,and 117 of Graham Robson's 'New MINI' 2nd edition published 2005. Copyright of 1st edition was 2002. The name change from Pentagon to Tritec engine came when the new Chrysler/BMW W10 Pentagon engine plant in Campo Largo, Brazil was set up and called Tritec Motors Ltda. There is no mention of a Bosch Tritec engine control computer. However in 'NEW MINI performance manual' by Tim Mundy, copyright 2008, the MINI ECU/ECM engine control computer by SIEMENS(not Bosch) is shown in photographs and discussed on pages 54 & 55. So the R50, R52, and R53 Mini Pentagon engines were manufactored at the Brazilian Tritec Engine Plant and fitted with Siemens ECU/ECM's in England. I hope that this clears up the confusion.

Ha ha ha it became a Fiat. At least Fiat has some decent engines now. So the Squatting Tiger GT has a Fiat engine???

 

Actually that was the name of the engine control computer from Bosh....
This is one case in which the WIKI-pedia is just wrong...
I remember the stories on the engine computer....and who was adopting it, etc...but you know the old saying.."I read it on the internet , so it must be true" ...anybody want a french model..or perhaps a Peugeot MINI motor?!
