You will be glad to know that the routes are printed. Babs will load them into Skooby & bring them home this morning.
Sorry I will not make it again this year. I hope you all have a great time. Be safe and have a good time.
The weather God's are saying no rain, but they also said the heat lamp will be set on high. See you all in a while.
Had a great time today! The footlongs from Remo's were great. Our little group only had one wrong turn. Taping the route notes to the dinner plate speedo made it easy to enjoy the drive and keep on course.
What fun today, it was nice to run solo and not worry about anybody in front or behind me. THANK YOU CHUCK FOR THE ROUTE The morning I was .1 behind the numbers and the afternoon I was .2 ahead of the numbers Now to the bad part of today, I realize I need to get another R50/53. The WRX never broke a sweat today and to get it to that point would have meant endangering others. The perfect thing would be to find out who owns the red and white JCW that was running today he was taking it easy on that thing and it was a real beauty I would love to acquire it when he sells it and my kids can buckle their own seatbelts
Thanks for a great drive! My streak continues, I am only able to run the first half. Shortly before pulling into Galipollis my car started to hesitate again. It got worse and actually completly shut down just over a mile from the river. I was able to limp it home, but apparently the heat is the missing ingredient. In my shake down runs all was good. Hope to run again when I find the gremlin. After getting home I spoke with my parents. They had a great time on the second half! Sean
Glad to hear you made it home ok Sean! We enjoyed running with you (until our silly mistake). Missed you at the candy shop! Paul
Thanks for coming on Riverrun.... Lots of fun today. Had a great day with good friends. Looks like we had a pretty good turnout. Eric would have been very happy to see such a nice turnout, especially the old Brit cars that made the trip. I'll let you know the total once I get the word from Susan. The route was a bit less challenging this year & that is because of the feedback we received after last years event. Next year we are thinking of using new roads in new territory. Allen maybe if you bolted 4 donut spares on the Subaru you could have fun at lower speeds. Yep we are on public roads & while we want to have fun we have to behave somewhat. You are the second WRX owner who has told me they wish they had a MINI today? Without my good friend & right hand man Bill this even would not happen. I'll pass your thanks on to him. I knew MINI had a plan when they introduced that huge speedo. Good thinking Brian. Sorry you had problems Sean. Todays heat was a real challenge for sure. Thank goodness for cold AC. Thanks to our fellow road users who out of the goodness of their heart pulled over & let our little train of MINI's & a MINI wanna be's by.
Man what a great time today! Really enjoyed the run, there were a few roads I was second guessing lowering my MINI (but it really does it handle better...). It was good meeting a new friend today, hopefully he will join us at breakfast soon... Thanks Brian for leading a great run, our miniature station wagon group was fun! Sean sorry to hear about the MINI, glad you got home safely. Chuck and Bill thanks again for putting together a great drive year, can't wait to see what is in store for next year!
Paul, it was nice to meet you. It could happen to any of us. Chuck, I was just glad I didn't get stuck on the side of the road. Sean
Too much fun today..... Thank's Chuck for putting on a fabulous run to Gallipolis and back... Lot's of good "twisties" and good times spent with friends.... Lunch at the little Italian restaurant was tasty..... Catching a well deserved break...
That was a real hoot. Lots of fun. great pace and didn't follow the Subaru onto gravel roads! Thanks Bill and Chuck!
Hi, I know some or most of you might not use facebook. I posted my photos from Riverrun and other car events on Facebook. Check out the Buckeye Triumphs and or the COMO (Central Ohio Mini Owners) facebook page.
