The last checkout has been run. All roads are in great shape & none are closed. The weather is supposed to be grand. All the ingredients are there for a fine day of driving SE Ohio's wonderful back roads. Hope to see you all Saturday either at the B&E or someplace along the route.
Is it weird that I want to ride in this 4x4 stretch? http://crashton.smugmug.com/Riverrun-Exploration/i-w7LXzT6
Nick that thank you means a lot. It is not only me it's also Bill who makes Riverrun happen. Bill & I think this may be the best route we have ever done. Lots of fun putting the route together & exploring new roads. Not so much fun doing all the other stuff necessary for a successful Riverrun. It's all for a good cause & it is great seeing folks so excited to drive the fun roads.
Please pre-register..... Please pre-register with Susan. We will have enough routes for those who do. The just show up folks may be out o luck.
Riverrun 2015 is run & done. A very good turnout of cars, classic Brit cars along with many other kinds. I don't have the final numbers from our registrar yet, but I believe we had over 90 cars taking part on a fine weather Saturday in the Southern Ohio hills. All proceeds will be donated to the James Cancer Hospital in Eric's name. I'll post up Susan's numbers when I receive them. Thanks go out to my good buddy Bill Atterbury for doing all the hard work while I practiced my apexes. Thanks to Carol Hunsberger for the logo design. Thanks to the Buckeye Miata Club for the printing. Thanks to Tony Burgess for all he does for us. Thanks to Susan Logan for being the registrar. And a big thanks to all of you who came & had a fun day. More pics here >>> 05-23-2015 Eric's Riverrun - crashton
Hey BAD, I guess my car isn't cool enought to make the posted pics. Just fyi I was in front of that slow cortina HAHA
Hey Chuck & Bill (pass this on to Bill) Great drive, thanks for the wonderful roads. I may have left some tire along the route someplace
The final tally from Susan Logan.... Hello, It has been just over 2 weeks since we enjoyed beautiful weather and the winding roads from Columbus, OH to Marietta, OH. Ninety four cars registered for Riverrun. Five of the registrations were from individuals who planned to meet the route in Zanesville. Thanks to those who participated, we will send donations which total $1,425 to Dr. Miguel Villalona's research fund at The James Cancer Hospital. Dr. Villalona's research is specifically focused on solid tumors such as lung cancer. Dr. Villalona managed Eric's treatment in 2008 for mesothelioma, which is occupational disease related to car repair, specifically the asbestos in brakes and clutches. Chuck Ashton has shared his pictures from 2015 Riverrun which are a great reminder of the beautiful day. I also want to recognize the organizers and car clubs that support the Riverrun. • Chuck Ashton and Bill Atterbury for the route, and instructions. • Buckeye Miata Club for the printing. • North American MGB Register for sponsorship and event insurance. • Carol Hunsberger for magnetic badges. The cars that participated participated in 2015 included: • Miata 29 • British classics 27 • Porsche 6 • Unknown 6 • New MINI 4 • Solstice 4 • VW 4 See you next year. Susan Logan
I was a great run. Thanks to all for their work. Kind of poor MINI turn out. Our group had 3 of the 4.
