We're back!!! Hey buttonbag what have you been doing? Nice to know we were missed by you.
I understand fully why you might think there is almost no one posting. Last week was MINIs on the Dragon and a lot of more prolific folks were there. Internet access pretty much sucks out in the woods of NC. That and we are running around driving, attending parties and in general having loads of fun. There is also the 90-9-1 principle, also known as the 1% rule. In Internet culture, the 1% rule or the 90–9–1 principle (sometimes also presented as 89:10:1 ratio) reflects a hypothesis that more people will lurk in a virtual community than will participate. This term is often used to refer to participation inequality in the context of the Internet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%25_rule_(Internet_culture) With just about 7600 members that means that 76 will post the most. Now that MOTD 2013 is in the history books over the next few days you will see traffic pick up on the site. Activity breeds activity, the more people post the more others will post too.
The OP also just joined last month. I can imagine being surprised when a community suddenly gets eaten by a Dragon.
LOL. Same thing happened to me last year. Bought my MINI on Apr 20, the weekend after (like 8, 9 days later) I posted on my local MINI groups forum. A week of crickets and I'm thinking "why'd my sales guy send me here?!?" The forum blew up with Dragon talk once everybody got back.
True enough, but I'm always surprised when people complain that there's nothing to respond to......why not start something to talk about instead of complaining? I guess the OP did that, in a way......
I've been a member for a couple years, but honestly, I couldn't figure out how to change my password to something I could remember and I didn't have the time (at the time) to figure it out and it wasn't that important to me before, BUT THEN I met Nathan at MOTD this year and he's such a great guy he made me want to get into the site and check it out more closely. So, I figured out the password thing and now I can log in easily and I do! Now, you may be sorry!
Hmmmm... 34 posts and OP is back at post #6. Perhaps slow down the posting and see if its just a Chicago thing. Scaring the newb off perhaps with the MINI zealotry? Friendly yes, but Dragon may not be the be all end all that is in this world.....
New member....waiting for the Mini to be delivered. I often pop in here to see whats new. Hope to meet some folks once we get her delivered!
Try this one: State Route 555, Ohio - a great motorcycle road I used to ride it on my R1200GS and its a great ride. Far less traffic than the Dragon and almost as fun.
I know a few of you guys hit the track--BMWCCA will be at Blackhawk, a great track for MINIs, and an easy drive for you (South Beloit) June 3rd, hope some of you make it.... I'm in Wisconsin but I check your boards every now and then to see if there's anything going on within driving distance of me.
Ah yes....the Triple Nickel...The Salamander....those of us living in Ohio know this road and others like it that are great drives!
