I would abuse myself in any way possible to get a Laguna Seca 302.....

Yep I could easily be a blue oval guy at the track with a Boss 302!!!
...and consider you can reach that $35grand mark fairly easily with a new Mini Coupe.. :what:-

I've been an import fanatic since I was into cars. But I'll admit, the new Mustang is really awesome. I really like the improvements that Ford has made over the past decade or so in the quality of their cars. The GT is an exceptional value for a RWD sports car, and the Boss302 is insane. I'd buy one!

Now they just need to add a Watts-link rear as an option (or standard :ihih: ) and you have a perfect track-day toy.

Definitely agree. I talked to a guy who bought a second set of wheels with NT-01's and a set of PFC-01 brake pads, slapped them on his Boss 302 500 miles from the showroom, and hit the track. That sounds like fun.

The Boss 302 is a monster for sure. I'd love to have one but at the same time I'd be worried that I was gonna "hurt" a nice car. Dumb, I know. I'd be much happier beating up on a plain GT with all they goodies. Not as fast or as nimble as a Boss but good enough to keep my track-day wannabe racer satisfied.

I think it is the Boss that has a unique way to unleash track performance, you get two keys with the car one is black and the other red, put in the black key for daily driving duties, you put in the red key and it unlocks more HP and different suspension settings along with other things.

Admittedly the the GT with the track goodies isn't as powerful or as competent as a Boss 302 but for 35k it's hard to beat track toy for the $$$.
Though I will point out the 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca sticker price is $10k LESS than the M3 with the competition package. Assuming there is no dealer mark-up... Also I will note the M3 get's hit with a Gas Guzzler tax and the Mustang GT or the Boss 302 do not. -

I don't know about anybody else, but Ford in my opinion has really been on the mark the last 2 years in just about everything styling, performance and fuel economy.

Awesome to hear that they've finally made all the performance options separate from the Premium package. Also, unlike MINI, Fords are typically available well under sticker, so one might be able to procure such a Mustang GT for in the ballpark of a pretty lightly-optioned JCW, for instance.
It's a smoking deal, that's for sure. I toyed with the idea of a BOSS 302, but it's just more than I want to spend on ANY car, and the wife's not likely to go for adding a 3rd Mustang to the stable. lol -

This has been on Carmax for three weeks now. I can't figure out why it isn't gone yet. Hell, it even comes with the red track-key!

Just read a review of the 'stang by some Indy car driver. Can't remember the name. I believe by 3rd/4th sentence he took a shot at all the cheap, ill fitting, plastic parts on the inside. While overall his review was positive: bang for the buck, better than before, etc., there was a clear "message between the lines" on the limits of the live rear axle.
That being said, if I had spare bags of money I would go for the Boss 302 with Laguna Seca package. Of course I'd also go for the Camaro LZ1 if I had another bag of cash. -

The Camaro, Corvette, and Mustang suffer from "old" tech in one way or another. I kind-of like it that way.
It is a track-car that can be driven on a street. It is rare. The "cloth" seats are Recaros. It is reasonably priced ("used" or not) for what it is. No, it really wasn't targeted at the guy who is looking to get a 997 Turbo. So, you not being happy with it makes sense to me. :goaljnky
BTW, you owe me a ride at Buttonwillow when you finally get the Turbo. :fingerscrossed: -

You can have the ride as soon as the wife allows me to track it. There is a long, ongoing discussion on that topic. :cornut: -

I like the new commercial, esp. at the end. I see the little girl and I think "NO, not pink!" and then...
