Moderators, can we change the name of this thread to "Exhaust sound-off"?

This is the first time I have actually agreed to "host" an event, so be kind. So far, there are 10 people signed up with some systems I'm really looking forward to hearing. We have a Magnaflow, a Supersprint, a Borla, a JCW sound kit, a JCW w/ Mynes V2 header, a Invidia q300 with Riss Racing cat less downpipe, a Scorpion/OBX header, and a couple of custom systems (and one just described as "deafening"). The sign-up doesn't have room for enough of the kind of information that I think would be helpful and interesting to folks, so I would like to encourage the participants to provide some additional information, like year and model of your Mini, as much as you would care to tell us about the exhaust system, and any other mods that relate to the exhaust note. You can put it right in this thread, or if you prefer, pm me, and I will somehow make it available at the event.

I would like to add some more info to 6-14 , as it becomes available.

The plan appears to be that on Thursday at 3pm we will assemble in the parking lot near the store, and each car will make a small loop. This should give us a reasonable opportunity to hear acceleration, deceleration, and a couple of gear changes. The route is indicated on the pic below.

    ExhaustSound-offRoute3.jpg

I would like to see a few more entries, maybe a one-ball....

I'm actually going to amend my previous statement. I'm going to try to be up there on Thursday morning to participate.

I've got an NM Engineering Downpipe Back 2.3 inch diameter, 3.5 inch tips exhaust.

Tigger got his exhaust installed this week, when I signed up it was in a box in the living room. It's a Magnaflow 16662, I like it!

So far I don't hear a drone on the highway, and the sound is nice and aggressive.

I'm not sure I can do the exhaust challenge because I'm doing the Glamour Shots for MINIs and we start shooting at 4:00. It will depend on how close the shoot site is to the ending of the exhaust sound off.

Thanks, everybody for the interest in this new event. Over on NAM, there was some discussion about moving it to another location. For a couple of reasons, I think it's best to keep it in the village as planned. Within the village, we are a sanctioned event and Fontana likes us. Outside, we are subject to other authorities that might not like us. We would also be deserting most of our audience if we are not in Fontana Village. I think the traffic issue can be handled with 3 flagmen. The rest of my home club, GulfSouthMotoring, will be at the jetboat rides when this is happening, so I need volunteers for the flagman (or woman) jobs. I'll bring the flags, but it would probably also be good if you could have a walkie-talkie. If you want to volunteer, but will be a driver, or will arrive late, or have to leave early, please indicate that you will be part-time, and why.

    Edits to participant list:

    19. MiNiSandpirate (RMW Header, Stratmosphere Flashpoint exhaust, 15% pulley, RMW street cam, tune(will be switching to Vi-PEC soon), alta intake, jcw injectors) 03 MCS
    20. Nathan (RMW Race Header, Random Technology Super High Flow cat, 2.5in outlet to 18" Vibrant resonator split to each side, reduced to 2.25in and then through a 12" Vibrant resonator on each side) 06 MCS

Mine's a 2006 R53, Alta intake, 15% pulley, TSW engine mount (because all 3 make a difference in sound)

I'll try to get in on this too...

My exhaust is a RMW Race Header, Random Technology Super High Flow cat, 2.5in outlet to 18" Vibrant resonator split to each side, reduced to 2.25in and then through a 12" Vibrant resonator on each side.

It's a new to me setup, I have no idea what it sounds like yet.

I have come to a disappointing realization. Since the beginning of April, I have been having some kind of heart problem that causes me to have very little energy or stamina. I have had some tests, but I don't meet with the cardiologist until Monday. I do know how I feel, however. I get way too tired way too easily, and like this, it just isn't wise to go up to Fontana this year. I think Aaron's post in the safety thread, where he listed the conditions under which one should not drive the Dragon (one being when you are tired), finally removed what little doubt I had left. Since I'm the one who originally volunteered to run this event, there is now a need for someone to take over. My Fontana room (2 queen, I think) is going to be available, too.

Sorry to hear of your health issues. You will be missed but it is more important that you get this resolved.
