My wife leased a new 2002
Audrey A4 with a 1.8T engine. Audrey paid for all the services on the car. Oil every 10,000 miles. By the time the A4 was at 30,000 miles the engine was full of sludge. Yep they used dino oil. I'm sure that was one reason, but me thinks 10,000 is very long for that engine. Thanks God it was a lease & we could dump the car back on them.
Different engines will react differently. What works in an E320 may not work for a Prince engine. For me oil is cheap insurance. Your mileage may vary as they say. -

I'm happily changing my oil Jim.
Come on over & the oil change is on me. It doesn't hurt, easy peasy.

Both Porsche and Mercedes state that they only allow the long change intervals if synthetic oil is used. Porsche takes it further and specifically states not to use conventional oil.
I would not dare put regular dino juice in any modern engine and try to run it for 10,000 miles. -
