    Auction was a bust... but may very well have lead to finding the old VW a new home and a new lease on life.

    Well, I think I managed to find the right buyer, that will keep the promise I made to Ray back in 2004.

    He couldn't be more excited take the old bug back to Long Island this morning. He plans on doing a full restoration... and keeping the AutoStick drivetrain intact. Every other offer I had close to my bottom line was ruined when they said they would do a 4 spd swap.

    Anyway, it's off to a good home.
