What a complete circus.......Bernie strings along the NY track while all the time he is negotiating with some group in TX? What a soap opera. I will wait to see the actual track breaking ground and an F1 car on track before believing TX will get a race weekend....

Forecast for Sunday...scattered thunder showers, temps in the 80s.

McLarens are the kinda/sorta pre-race favorites, but since Hamilton has had problems leaving the pits in previous years, my money is on the Button...qualifying may also be wet so it could be a damp but exciting weekend.

Tire wear, brakes, and the usual track break-up and close walls will separate the vets from the many new drivers that have never even seen Circuit Gilles Villeneuve...and factor in the rain and we may have a very unexpected result come Sunday afternoon.

Ferrari on Wednesday confirmed speculation that Felipe Massa is staying alongside current teammate Fernando Alonso next year.

And the famous Italian team also said in a media statement that Brazilian Massa, 29, will still be a Ferrari race driver in 2012.

"I am happy to be given the opportunity to drive for Ferrari for a further two seasons," he said.

With Spaniard Alonso under long-term contract, the news ends rumours that Renault's Robert Kubica might switch to Ferrari in the near future.

The other driver recently linked with Massa's seat, Mark Webber, has re-signed with Red Bull Racing for 2011.

"We wanted to show proof of stability for the future, believing in the worth of a driver pairing that is without equal in terms of talent, speed and its ability to work together for the good of the team," said team boss Stefano Domenicali.

U.S. F1 auctions rare racing items--and couches

Want a piece of American's Formula One history--or perhaps a green couch for your dorm? They're being sold as what's left of U.S. F1 is auctioned off starting on Thursday.

A number of intriguing items are available, including a body shell for a Formula One car, a race-car wheel and two racing paintings.

But most of the 427 lots are simply mundane office and industrial equipment. There are handtrucks, a refrigerator, trash cans, cabinets, desktop computer equipment and laptops.

U.S. F1 also apparently liked splashes of color, and dualing blue and green couches are available too. There is also a vacuum cleaner, a 48-inch television and one bottle of Champagne--which obviously was never used on the podium.
