I think those guys should be able to make me a decent front splitter. I just send them an inquiry.

 

I suggest he also add jumps to the tracks. I mean, look at what Pastrana did with his rally car. I am sure the F1 cars are capable of much longer jumps. Just let them jump over the chicanes when ever they want. And give them extra points for actually landing on another car to soften their own landing.

 

You know, they've said for years that F1 cars have so much downforce they could drive upside down.......let's find out, eh?

 

How about some hydrolics? Style points for taking a turn on three wheels. Now, that would be gangster!

Still plenty of rumors flying about who may get a seat this season, including RALF (makes me feel like puking just typing his name), Klien, Vitaly Petrov (who would be the first Russian F1 driver), Kvick Nick Heidfeld, and who else?...

There are lots of rumors about USF1 and Campos being 'unlikely' to make it to the grid.

Add to that 'Toyota' are still working on their car and make of it what you will.....

 

It's an open book right now with a chance of some missing chapters...my only hope is that the obnoxious form of Schufans from the early oughts have moved on to MotoGP by now. :cornut:

i'm trulli amazed that no one has driven an F1 car since November...no testayet but Massa in an '08 tomorrow.

 

Michael Schumacher will be 2010 F1 world champion, says Ross Brawn

Ross Brawn has said Michael Schumacher will become the 2010 Formula One world champion. Brawn, who heads the Mercedes team, formerly Brawn GP, will be reunited with the seven-times world champion when Schumacher makes a return to Formula One after an absence of three years.

Schumacher will bring the quota of world champions competing in 2010 to four as he joins Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button and the German newspaper Bild this week quoted Brawn as saying: "If I had to bet on any of them then it is clear that Michael will become world champion."

Brawn said: "I was asked which of the four champions was likely to win the title and, naturally, I said Michael! In any case, I really believe he has just as good a chance as the others. Michael is now more relaxed. When he retired in 2006, F1 was a burden for him. Now I can sense his old enthusiasm."

Brawn added that Schumacher had already impressed and energised the British-based team with his motivation and professionalism during a recent visit to the headquarters in Brackley in Northamptonshire. Brawn guided the 41-year-old Schumacher to all of his world titles when they worked together at Benetton and then Ferrari.

"I don't think he will come out and win the first grand prix," said Brawn. "He will need a few races to familiarise himself with the other cars and the many new drivers. Then I hope to see the old Schumacher. This has always been his strength: to learn and adapt amazingly quickly."

Schumacher, who is not allowed to drive a current Formula One car until the first official pre-season test in Valencia on 1 February, spent much of last week testing in a GP2 car. The revamped Mercedes team will be formally introduced in Stuttgart next Monday with a 2009 car displaying the new team colours.

The 2010 Mercedes F1 car will make its first appearance at the test in Spain. Schumacher will share the testing with Nico Rosberg, who has moved to Mercedes after four years with Williams. Schumacher took Button's seat after the 2009 world champion joined Hamilton at McLaren-Mercedes. The season's opening race is in Bahrain on 14 March.

 

I hope not.

I would love to see a multi-way fight for it, but my money is on Hamilton this year.

I expect that Vettel will run him close and maybe LOLonso too

But I would rather Mercedes failed......

 

Former Renault test driver José María López will be named as a driver for the U.S. F1 team on Monday, according to the driver's spokesman.

The deal to be announced on Monday includes sponsorship package of about $8 million, according to a report by the Reuters news agency. The sponsors include the government of Argentina, López's home country.

López, who turns 27 in April, won the championship in Argentina's TC 2000 touring-car championship in 2008 and 2009. He was tipped to be a driver for U.S. F1 in November, provided he could assemble a sponsorship package.

In early 2007, López ran in the American Le Mans Series, driving a Ferrari 430 GT for Corsa Motorsports in the Sebring 12-hour race and for Risi Competizione at St. Petersburg. He ran in the GP2 series in 2005 and 2006.

López served as a test driver for the Renault Formula One team in 2006, after spending two years in Renault's driver development program.

U.S. F1 hasn't named its second driver yet. Speculation has focused on James Rossiter, a British native and former test driver for the Honda Formula One team. Rossiter won the American Le Mans Series race in Detroit in 2008 while driving for Andretti Green Racing.

 

Michael returning not atop a prancing horse, the over all shake up of drivers, no refueling and even more proposed changes, this will be an interesting season at the very least....

 

Campos is likely to miss all four official group tests prior to Bahrain's 2010 season opener, according to the new Spanish team's head of strategy.

"Bahrain is a test, it's not a first race for us," Daniel Eisen is quoted as saying by the Associated Press
.

Valencia based Campos was named by Bernie Ecclestone this week as one of the new teams he fears will not be ready to race this season.

Eisen denied the F1 chief executive's claim, but admitted that a teammate for Bruno Senna will not be announced until sponsors and investors have been secured, which could be as late as the first race of the season in mid March.

It is rumoured that Campos' chassis builder Dallara is withholding the 2010 car due to unpaid invoices, but Eisen dismissed the speculation about financial difficulties.

"Everybody's worried and that's logical because the season is long and we're the new ones. But first things first, we want to be there with the best of everything, especially the cars," he said.
