I call BS on this one...Bernie is crammed full of the stuff and it seems to come flooding out of his mouth every time he opens it. Ecclestone: I have never done anything for money (crash.net)
Full on waders my arse ....you need a submarine to survive all that BS. Like the way he goes straight from poor and picking potatoes to buying Brabham ..... the man needs to be put out to pasture. All this expansion into the far corners of the planet are doing nothing but making what is an already unreachably expensive sport to try and get into; completely out of the question unless You have a country sponsoring you. I've said it before and I'll say it again, F1 needs more teams in the sport and a way for them to enter and build a competitive team without first having a national debt to start from... Wonder what the cost for say Lotus is to compete in this middle of nowhere race? A place that F1 is going only because someone there wrote Bernie a big fat check.
10 minute delay to the start of the race and then a safety car start with everyone on full wets. Advantage Red Bull at the start (as they're lousy at standing starts this year) but I expect carnage and plenty of other surprises. Could be entertaining.
I don't think I'm giving away any significant details if I say I hope anyone who set their DVR added some extra time just in case the race might go long. An hour and 10 minutes after the race was started, they've completed 10 laps so far.....
Ya...I stayed up wayyyyy to late watching it rain in Korea. But one it ran under green it was fun to watch.
The abbreviated version (they deleted a lot of the rain delay and red flag biz) is on now and nearly over. Watching it now with less bleary eyes, this time I noticed how dramatically Vettel's engine blew. The track there is lined right to the edge on both sides with barriers so he couldn't get off and was dropping chunks of engine along the track behind him as he looked for a place to pull over.
Happy 80th birthday, Bernie! And how old do you actually feel today? Is that a one, or are you showing us an 80 year-old booger on yur finger?
Well done! (you beat me to it) Unfortunately I think the idea of the frame is wishful thinking; that guy will probably outlive Vettel.
Only two races to go. I wonder whether engine use is going to have an effect. I know there are drivers who've used all of their engines at least once. Vettel's remaining un-blown engines have apparently already been used twice. Vettel’s Brazil engine raced twice already (yallaf1.com)
Hulkenberg takes pole! Weather obviously a big factor but everyone was on dry tires at the end and he drove more than one lap quicker than second best (Vettel).
First pole for Williams since 2005! As one of the announcers said, if this guy doesn't have a ride next year something's wrong in F1.....but I say how he finishes the race is a better indicator.... Still, a hearty "well done" to the Hulk!
