Campos is likely to miss all four official group tests prior to Bahrain's 2010 season opener, according to the new Spanish team's head of strategy. "Bahrain is a test, it's not a first race for us," Daniel Eisen is quoted as saying by the Associated Press . Valencia based Campos was named by Bernie Ecclestone this week as one of the new teams he fears will not be ready to race this season. Eisen denied the F1 chief executive's claim, but admitted that a teammate for Bruno Senna will not be announced until sponsors and investors have been secured, which could be as late as the first race of the season in mid March. It is rumoured that Campos' chassis builder Dallara is withholding the 2010 car due to unpaid invoices, but Eisen dismissed the speculation about financial difficulties. "Everybody's worried and that's logical because the season is long and we're the new ones. But first things first, we want to be there with the best of everything, especially the cars," he said.
...and the gap between the front of the grid and the rear widens with every passing day. :nonod: Teams have also agreed that the top ten qualifiers will have to start the race on the tyres they use in Q3. 43 days......c'mon let's hurry up and get the season started before they come up with more new rules!
They are getting silly with all the rules. I have an idea. How about they come up with say 50 different rules. Before every race, they pull 25 rules out of the hat and those will be the only ones in effect for the race. :ihih:

Ok, we all know the site took a dump today and there are now active threads with big gaps. Here's one! Meh, at least the missing content from this thread was mostly just off-season filler.
Yep, of course it'll be a bit odd since Hispania intend to use it as the first ever run and shake down for their cars. I can't believe there isn't a rule against that...yet.

Bahrain = BORING After countless hours of rule change debates by the suited egos in charge of F1; they have done nothing to improve the racing. In the moonscape of a circuit called Bahrain; the no fueling rule mearly reduced most of the race to drivers driving conservatively as they were forced to carry heavy fuel loads to last the entire race. With the final laps approaching and the hopes of the gloves being taken off and some good racing to ensue, the lack of fresh tires made the whole thing a rub with lap times mostly unchanged..... Was nice to see Ferrari back and Massa fully recovered from his injuries last year. Shumacher after not racing for three years turned in a solid performance in his return finishing in the points and the new Lotus team finishing it's first race bodes well for them. Maybe very small fuel cells to force lots of refueling and no need to conserve would lead to better racing..... But I'm sure the egos will figure something out.
I'm torn as to where my loyalties lie this year... I'm a huge fan of Ferrari, have been for 30 some years now, but Alonso is not a favorite. Would much rather see Massa leading the team. Also a big fan of Schumacher, there is a lot to be said of his cold and calculating ways, but also not a fan of Mercedes.
Has anyone else wondered if the fans in the stands at Bahrain are cardboard cut outs? Try as I might I've never detected any movement from the stands and the TV coverage never does a shot into the stands..... Only place I ever see live people is in the pits, start finish line and around the podium...:rolleyes5:
When in the desert you don't want to move too much during the day. You waste energy and moisture. You save the moving for night time.
