There is actually a bug, I believe. Transfers for next race are not allocated till Tuesday following the previous race. So the transfers you see right now are from last race. Hence if you pick your bonus race now, you will have all 3 transfers tomorrow when it resets. I've actually taken advantage of this programming error a couple of times before. Of course, use at your own risk, this league is buggy enough as is.
Thanks, I was wondering about that. I think it's worth the risk. If my transfers total doesn't reset tomorrow I can always send a complaint and that gives them almost 2 weeks to fix it.
Bonus track reminder: The window to pick a new bonus track for the final five races (Japan, Korea, India, Abu Dhabi and Brazil) is almost closed and four of us haven't yet done the deed. I think the window closes along with the pre-quali transfer window (1200 EST, this Friday) but I'm not certain about that...given the quirkiness of the bonus track biz so far I wouldn't be surprised if it closes sooner...without warning. I recommend going in there to make that pick right away.
It bothers me that it costs a transfer, it shouldn't. I've lost them the same way until this round. As Jerry pointed out, there seems to be a glitch in the code allowing you to pick your new bonus race right after the last race of the previous round but before they reset the transfers for the next race by spending a transfer left over from the race that just ended...if you didn't use them all for the race. I know it's too late to do any good this season, just saying.
It also works for the drivers. Say if you switched for a driver in hopes of him making up some spots and you have transfers left over, you can switch back for a driver that you hope will get into Q3. Sounds like a lot of work and I have been remiss in doing it, but it seems every point counts. I am currently tied for first. Have I been more diligent with transfers, I could be up a few points.
Looks like most of us dropped a bit but we still have 2 in the top 10 and the M/A league is up to 4th overall. I would not count the person in the 1st place. His bonus race was Suzuka and that only put him in the lead by 40 point or so. Looks like this will come down to the last race.

I'm gonna call that a win overall. I enjoyed watching the season and the fantasy league. We should consider it again this next season. All new cars some interesting mid and back of the pack swaps should keep it interesting.
<in my best 4 yr old voice> I'm not in last place.....I'm not in last place ! :biggrin5: Congrats to all and we should definitely do it again next season.
It kept me excited right up until the end. After Brazil quali I was sitting in first place by some 36 points. I made some defensive trades to optimize my chances, but this being F1 it was all for naught. With Maldonado and Hamilton suffering failures, I was out of the running. The missus also had Hami, so that allowed the #4 player to slide into the first spot on the backs of Sutil and Petrov. Definitely in for next year.
I'll play again next year as well, but I'm also going to look around for a very simple one where all the points come from guessing who will finish P1, P2, P3, etc. That's a completely different type of game but I've played that sort before and enjoyed it as much as this one where race come-backs from poor qualifying or penalty demotion often trump winning. I like both sorts though so would probably play both.
Here's a candidate on my list for next year. As mentioned above I'll probably pick one other to play in addition to Speed's game. Castrol Edge Grand Prix Predictor: powered by Autosport You pick the top 10 finishers for each race and score 10 points if a driver finishes where you predicted, 5 if you were one position off, 2 points if you were two places away, 0 for all others. Seems very simple on the surface but I haven't read the whole thing. I'm not in it for the prizes and I'm not sure what they might be -- again, I haven't studied this one fully -- but I know the season winner wins BIG plus there are apparently bonus prizes up for grabs throughout the season.
