Watch it anyway Nathan. It is worth it to see Vettel stop in the pits drink a cuppa, eat a donut & maintain his lead. :donut1:

Umm, you're overselling it. It was a pretty boring race to watch. Expectantly, on a tight street circuit with very little to none run off room very few passes were attempted and most settled for status quo. Except for Hamilton and even he mostly limited himself to passing in the DRS zone.

I'm looking forward to Japan this weekend; gotta love Suzuka.
Been wondering whether anyone else is also looking forward to the Bathurst 1000 (Aussie V8 Supercars) on Sunday. There's an excellent 101 on Speed.com: Bathurst And V8 Supercars 101
Seems to me even if you aren't sure what you think about the V8 Supercars series you'd still enjoy watching pretty much any racing at Bathurst...as long as you're not an oval-only "purist." It's a public road, closed off for races: 3.9 miles, 23 corners, 522 feet of elevation change. If the coverage is good I think it will be fun to watch. -

The turns at the top of the hill and the run down the side of the mountain is absolutely epic! Should be a great race, too bad there are only really two competetive makes in the series....Ford vs GM......
Re the F1 driver's championship - the race for 2nd place is going to be amazing too. Three top drivers within 3 pts of each other right now, 5 races to go and the Hamster still within range - it's gonna be a battle.
In a way it's OK that Seb has run off with it, you only have to look down the field a bit to see some real racing going on, well worth the time to watch.
Lotus (the green ones) will be an interesting team to watch next year when they get Renault's KER system, they should at least be mid pack next year, right in there with Sauber, Williams, Force India and Torro Rosso - should be fun to watch Heikki in particular. -

I must be the only person enjoying each of the races and happy seeing Sebastien Vettel run with it. Im rooting for him and Webber.
Seeing each race has been good to see where the field is shifting. I have high hopes for Paul DiResta if he can catch the right team/car combo.
Im not going to be around for the Bathurst 1000. However, it being DVR'd and my Dad and I will watch it when Im back. -

Here's a bit of pre-Suzuka entertainment:

I like how back in the day (not so far back, actually) steering wheels where actually wheel shaped.

Yup, and he didn't do so badly after he lost that front wing either. Downforce? Who needs it?
These days they're lucky to make it back to the pits without being lapped or crashing out.

And he won that race too, even after being stopped that long, getting back to the pits to get another wing, and carrying on!
Then they took it away from him for going thru those barriers instead of turning around and re-entering the track where he'd gone off. Never mind that he would have been trying to enter the race against the flow of traffic and so on....
If you haven't seen the Senna movie that's out right now, find a way to do so....
Angib, the lever he's moving is either a brake bias or roll bar adjustment.....
And the reason so many modern cars can't make it back to the pits is that the wing gets caught under the bottom of the car, lifting the front end off the ground - then they simply have no steering or brakes. -
Back then, it wasn't unknown for the driver to get a blister in his palm from changing gear at Monaco - with the seven-speed boxes they use today, a Monaco race requires 4300 gearchanges, so maybe in Senna's day with only six speeds that would have been only 3700 - an average of about one change every two seconds for two hours.
When I was a kid, they always told you to change hands at 100.... :blush2: -
that whole video just sounded awesome..... ludicrous volume was a treat to the ears....

Just wow, thanks for the link!!!

Neither Rosberg nor Luizzi ran a lap in quali but they're both on the provisional grid. Rosberg should have fun passing tomorrow as long as he can make it through the back markers without incident.
