Here's an F1 design I've not seen before.

    Arrows A22:

Bit of video of same car and a Jordan also with an odd forward accoutrement:

Not the first time a high front wing has been tried on race cars.... If eye appeal has anything to do with function, they have to do nothing. LOL

Ever looked at an Outlaw or super modified car amoungest others? ;)

Yes, I've seen them on other types of cars and I've seen others on F1 cars but I'd not seen that particular design on an F1 car. I'm always fascinated when I come across another of these odd designs tried, usually only briefly, in F1.

Completely understand why they were trying it, downforce at Monaco rules.

I'm surprised I missed that one because I've been paying fairly close attention to F1 since the mid-90s. I guess I missed Monaco that year (2001).

    Did You Say WINGS?

If you think that wing's odd, you should have seen the ones they tried back in the 60's. 2 huge wings F/R acting directly on the suspension! Had to have been 2ft above the driver's helmet. They kept falling off so the FIA banned them. The cars almost looked like WWI fighter planes!

No, come on, don't be rude..... He was using a galvanised iron watering can like this, with the rose unscrewed from the end:

And you could see how safety was absolutely critical - all the mechanics had left their cigarettes burning on the pit wall, so that they didn't drop any ash off the end into the fuel filler.

At about 41 minutes in, you can see where someone forgot and kept his cigarette ;) - don't worry though, the driver was uninjured and continued to race.

It seems that removing the metal hub of a wheel with a mallet when your driver has had a premature victory dunk might not be the wisest thing to do.
