Indian farmers protest over F1 track Hundreds of angry Indian farmers have threatened to sabotage the new Buddh circuit, near New Delhi, the venue scheduled to host the inaugural Indian grand prix in October, over 300 farmers on Wednesday staged a protest near the site. DNA India said they are angry at how their lands were acquired to make room for the project. Calling themselves the Bhartiya Kisan Union, they are threatening to “dismantle the racing track with force if necessary” if their demands are not met. They reportedly drafted a letter to authorities demanding money, educational placements and the establishment of industries to generate employment. “We are warning you that if our demands are taken casually, we will be forced to launch an agitation,” the farmers wrote.
Autoweek interviews David Coulthard David Coulthard had a strong career in Grand Prix racing, spanning 15 years in Formula One and delivering 13 wins, 12 poles, 62 podium finishes, 18 fastest laps and 535 championship points--the most ever by a British driver. The 40-year-old now divides his time among piloting a Mercedes-Benz C-class for Mucke Motorsports in Germany's DTM series, providing F1 commentary for the BBC and tending to family life at his home in Monaco, where he has a son and a stepdaughter with longtime fiancé Karen Minier. Coulthard still does promotional work for Red Bull Racing, the team he drove for during the last three years of his career. To that end, Red Bull brought him to Los Angeles, where on Aug. 14 he had dinner with the media to promote next year's Austin F1 race. We picked his brain on a variety of topics. His elbow has been "blocked" all this time? Not sure what that means but I'm guessing they didn't completely fix the elbow after the accident, giving his other joints a chance to recover and putting off the elbow fix until other parts were healthier. Kubica set for final elbow operation (gpupdate.net)
Thanks for the updates. I sure hope Robert has a good outcome & can find his way back in the his F1 seat at Renault.

Senna qualified well, but showed his inexperience in the first corner....hope he gets better. Of course, if Heidfeld wins his court case it all could be for naught. But I think even if Quick Nick wins, a judicious amount of money will change hands and it will all go away.....along with Nick. However, there's Romain Grosjean in the wings with a fresh GP2 title under his belt too, and already under contract to Renault......erm Lotus..........erm, whatever they'll be calling themselves next year. Great drives by both Michael Schumacher, Jensen Button and even Mock Webba after his horrendous start. What is it with Webbo and these bad starts? His car is exactly the same ae Vettel's, and Seb doesn't have these problems..... Great race! Lots of passing and repassing thruout, tire problems galore and no weather intrusion - terrific weekend!
Senna's prospects didn't last but till the very first turn...... Also can't figure what the deal is with Webber's starts, he had the RPMs but the car bogged down...too little throttle in fear of wheel spin? Have to admit Button had a great race considering; and it was so good to see a bit of the young Schumacher shining through. I would so love to see his final retirement be on an up note.... But in the end it twas Seb and Red Bull atop the podium....still the team to beat and with the showing Alonso had, me thinks the Scudaria still has a ways to go to catch them.....
I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about Hamilton's condition when he crashed out. He got out under his own power but he was clearly out for a bit in the car, not even moving. Seems like he should be in for a few medical tests at least to be sure he doesn't have a concussion.
Speculation, but I think he was gobsmacked that he took himself out & just sat there soaking it all in. From where I sat Kobie did nothing wrong. I'm certain he will have his head looked at, first by the doctors & next by the team.
If you watch the in-car when it happened, Hamilton made no steering input at all. And you can see from the down track camera that the distance from the white fog line to Kobie's car actually increases as Kobie goes down the track.
