It's up and working now. They've changed a few things apparently so I'm going to read the rules carefully but I don't imagine they're as complex as the Speed rules were. I think the groups thing is also new. I set up a group named Motoring Alliance F1 Team again, same title as the group at Autosport/Castrol, so you can join if you like. I'm going to at least start the season playing both and see how they go.
The link I have for the Speed one is tossing me into a loop and is not coming up. What is the link for the Speed F1 Challenge please.
Ok, the rules for the Pirelli Challenge are very simple. Click the How to Play tab and it should take about a minute to figure it all out. Click through the other tabs as well, it's all pretty simple stuff. Looks like you can make your predictions and then change them as often as you like right up to the deadline. "You must submit your final predictions by midnight Saturday GMT, the night before the Grand Prix." (If I did the math right that's 8PM (Eastern) Sat night...someone double check that for me?) The only penalty for making changes is that if there's ever a need for a tie-breaker it's based on who made their final predictions earliest.
I'll edit post #1 (probably tomorrow) to make it a source of pertinent info so we don't have to go hunting through all the posts for links, rules, deadlines, etc.
I think that's because it's a new feature and they haven't integrated it well yet. I only see one way to get to it: Click the Welcome tab and then scroll down and watch the rectangular box on the lower left. It will change every few seconds, alternately showing Race Analysis, Expert Predictions and Players' Groups. When Players Groups comes up click the More > button.
I know, I was thinking it was rather well done and then started trying to navigate my way back to the groups area... That's the one thing so far that makes me think the folks from Speed might have a hand in it this year. The only other glitch I've noticed so far is they have Senna listed as driving for Renault. He's right next to Maldonado so they got him in the right place, just forgot to change his team name to Williams. Doesn't matter since the team has no effect on picks or points, just pointing it out. I think everything else is easily navigable via the tabs. Once you're in a group you can check on standings under the Leaderboard tab. There's a drop-down for individual or group rankings.
I'm in on both, but I have to be honest. I preferred the last year's game. I know it was more complicated, but I liked that you scored points for all the little things like laps completed. I also enjoyed the strategy involved with team budget, limited transfers and whatnot.
Faster way is to go to the VERY top and click "My Profile". Then there is a black button with red text in the body of the page that says, "Join a Group". Click that and start typing the name of our group. It will come up. It needs to be approved though. I suspect that's Steve's bag.
Yup, it requires "approval". I assume that's to keep someone from joining every group on the board or maybe trying to join one group and accidentally choosing the wrong one. Thanks for the tip, I hadn't found the My Profile link yet.
I know what you mean. At the start of the last season all I wanted was a Pick 6 type game, pick the top finishers each race, done. By the time I learned all the rules and nuances at Speed I was really enjoying the strategic challenge. I wished I would have figured it all right away because I missed out on easy points in a few races and could have been higher up the order...which meant I was looking forward to starting the season the right way this year... Oh well, moving on...
Okay, I saw the post for the M/A league on Facebook and my Avatar was in the picture. Was that random happenstance or does M/A and Facebook interact?
