I think that 2nd place finish is the best he'll get this year in either. I've been thinking along the same lines though. Given the situation, would he want to drive the 2012 Ferrari? My guess is the Sauber won't progress much but the Ferrari might gain a bit so it might be to his advantage in terms of points for the season...maybe. On the other hand, if they don't make up ground, and fast, the front-running teams will just pull further ahead. You know anyone associated with a losing Ferrari season will be publicly crucified, Massa won't be the only one fired, and the stink will remain until they turn things around. I'd say if there's an offer and it's now or never he'll take it but all things considered he'd probably rather wait until the end of the season.

RBR To Discuss Ignored Team Orders With Vettel (formula-one.speedtv.com)

So Vettel is going to inherit Hamilton's moodiness now that he's having a bad start to the year?

Odd, I heard those calls on Speed. They were back and forth in the period of half a lap. "Come in" "Disregard. Stay out." "Come-in. Emergency, come in." Or something close to that. Even if his radio was working how confusing is that?
I don't think he was moody. Don't let the media turn this into BS that it isn't. He just wanted to race to the end. Perhaps against the wishes of the management. -

Moody I don't believe so. Pissed yep & I understand that. No race driver worth his salt would ever be happy with the kind of race Vettel had.

53 second delta in that video compared with a 25-28 second one these days. And there are pit lane speed limits they did not have back then.

Did you see him run over the air line to boot!

I like it. Chapman in the pit supervising. Car running over the hose. Not going to see such recklessness these days.

I love the look of the older F1 Cars. Somehow they appear more powerful.

No need to feel sorry for Felipe though, he got one of these a while back. That should hold him over.

I don't feel sorry for Massa, he had a great run and got to drive for one of the best teams in F1 - historically speaking - and while it's sad that his career was ended by a freak accident , he's still alive, a fate many F1 pilots didn't get to share. I think he knew his career was over last year, and he should have retired then.....I understand the drive, and I understand a racer not wanting to give up.
But this year's events are going to put a sad and sorry note to all the great things he did accomplish in the past. -

It does seem that the bar to get a new car at Ferrari got a lot lower. I recall Kimi had to win the championship to get one. Now it seems all one has to do is win a race.
