Whilst the competitiveness of the season so far has been a breath of much needed fresh air in F1, for this fan the real story has been the rise of Lotus and the fall of Ferrari. For without Alonso's spectacular display of driving at Malaysia, the scuderia would be sliding very near mid pack in competitiveness. Then who, before the season had begun, would have predicted how well Lotus has done, much less both Kimi and Grosjean occupying the podium this past weekend in Bahrain? Is it Kimi or Lotus? Either way Kimi's return has been more than expected and Lotus must be patting themselves on the back about right now for hiring him!! Will all this add up to a win for Lotus before the season's end, or does it just mean that they'll be in the hunt for second, after a resurgent Vettle and Red Bull? Guess we'll have to watch and see!
Because Hamilton was technically off the track (all four tires across the line) when he passed Rosberg during the first of those encounters, Alonso says the important take-away is that it's now legal to leave the track to pass.
Ha! Always looking for an edge, isn't he? I think Kimi will win at least one this year, he definitely has the fire in his belly this year! I'm thinking this championship could come down to the last race of the year....

OK, I'm going to put this out there. That is about the driving position in the M1A1 Tank. And it was surprisingly comfortable even after spending several hours in it.
Just finished watching, and wow. Kimi made a fantastic showing there! But I gotta feel bad for Big Mac, as they just ran a bad race. Really bad.
It will be interesting to see what happens after the test. Maybe shuffling of the field somewhat. I'm really enjoying he season so far.
France agrees to pay Bernie to let F1 race on Bernie's own circuit (he owns the Paul Ricard circuit). No Spa race next year. Ecclestone confirms F1’s return to France (GPUpdate.net)
I agree, the position looks comfortable. Just not very good for vision if the steering wheel is in your way....lol
Interestingly, very similar to the tank yet again. Let's just say its a good thing the beast is 67 tons, cause you are not checking your side view mirrors.
But don't you use a camera for your viewing? There isn't any kind of hatch/windows or anything is there?
For daytime you use three periscopes. This clip should give you an idea: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTxG9i5wGyU]Inside the M1A1 Abrams Drivers compartment - YouTube[/ame] Night time is even worse. The center periscope gets replaced with a night vision device. Looks just like this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym3cdG_7Bnc]M1A1 Night fire from driver view - YouTube[/ame]
I'm thinking the driving position in these two is a bit different than the current version. I'll take the one on the left. Rosberg to drive Fangio’s Mercedes on Saturday (GPUpdate.net)
