I had forgotten the penalty, and was just looking at the times. Still he's in a decent spot.

Really? Cool, I'm glad someone enjoyed it.

    Spoiler warning:

I guess we all see things differently. It seemed like a typical Monaco processional to me, plenty of fast driving between the Armco but almost impossible to pass anyone cleanly. At another track those last laps with the top 6 runners closed up nose to tail I would have expected all sorts of possibilities but the order never budged, lap after lap. There weren't even any real attempts, even during that difficult scramble through backmarkers! I might have been on the edge of my seat but I didn't expect any change without some carnage to go with it. I admit that made for some tension, but that's not the kind of tension I enjoy.

I suppose it's really my own fault that I rarely enjoy the Monaco races. I have low expectations going in and I usually get what I expect, the old self-fulfilling prophesy thing in action.

The non-driving aspects -- tires, pits, strategy, rain(?), etc -- kept me interested though as usual this year so I'm not actually complaining. Plus the 1-winner-per-race string continues, six races > six winners! I wonder whether Webber will change his tune now, at least for a couple weeks, re his complaint about a different winner in every race..... :biggrin5:

My fingers are crossed for a Lotus rebound in two weeks to make it seven.

I have to agree. It was a so-so race. It had some exciting potential moments that never developed, otherwise it was ho-hum.

    Spoiler post follows.

Yes most of it was not terribly fun but those last few laps were really close. Any mistake or slightly more rain could have turned the whole thing. Plus nine retirements (or was it 10?) mixes things up.

So yeah, not as exciting as some of the last races overall, But the end made up for it.

Guess I go into watching Monaco without high expectations for a lot of overtaking.. That said, I find the knife edge the drivers have to compete on to be, if not the most difficult to maintain, certainly the place that forces a driver to make the fewest mistakes if he wants any chance to win, if not to merely finish.

To see six cars at the front so close together after so many near misses, from each and every one of them, is dam exciting indeed!

Monaco seperates the men from the boys.....and today there were a lot of men competing..WOW!!:D

Well there were some interesting things to take away from Monaco, the first is Ferdy leading the driver's championship! Whodathunk it?

Second, what has happened to big Mac? The wheels seem to have come off their whole championship....Button couldn't get past a Caterham all race!

Mercedes is definitely in it to win it, but if Michael can't start finishing his races they will never get enough points to win the Constructors championship. Rosberg has a solid shot at the driver's championship tho....they say Canada should suit their car well, a 1-2 finish there would do wonders for their championship hopes this year.

Red Bull has great strategy when they don't have the best pace. They're in it for both championships to me.....

Force India is not only fast, but both their drivers are consistant and they finish races - best of the midpack teams to me at this point. Sauber has agressive drivers and great pace, but they need better decision making so they can finish races. Wiliams is also showing promise, but again, inconsistant finishing is hurting them.

6 for 6.....heck of a start to the year, who will be the first to get their second?

The Lotus also looks good for Canada, if they get it all together, it could be Rogro or Kimi's first - it'll be fun to see.....

I'm sure the protesting group will not see the fallacy of spending their personal funds on beer instead of tuition to protest the government's tuition hikes.

Cool video of Sauber's cut-away F1 car. It's not long enough and they don't show most areas in great enough detail -- they skip the car of the car altogether -- but still interesting.

OK, but since the Lotus is one of the top tier rides this year, who will they get to step in if they fire him?

Who would love a chance to move up to a top rated team like this from one of the lower ranks? And what if he could bring some sponsorship money with him?

    Any thoughts?

They've had prettty good results with RoGro, maybe another GP2 driver?
