:cornut: Sir Sterling's sister Pat Moss raced Minis in approx the 64-66 time frame. She was quite good at it but settled down to marriage and children Jason
Pat Moss is usually remembered for her rallying success in Austin Healeys - or 'big Healeys' as they were known and generally considered "real men's cars". I don't think she ever settled down much - not long before her death in her 70s she got a speeding ticket...... while towing a horsebox.
^ This :yesnod: Actually Pat Moss' claim to fame was driving in rallies. Yep she could wheel a car whether on a track or stage road. She was quite a lady.
QUALIFYING SPOILER BELOW Looks like another Red Bull shutout in qualifying. *sigh* Otoh, McLaren in second row and Ferrari in third should make an interesting podium chase for second and third.

I see Lewis is back this time around. Gotta say that this Tooned was more interesting then the race. What a snooze fest for me.
I was angry when I realized I forgot to set my DVR but from what I've read it seems I didn't miss much. I saw only the last lap of the re-air and heard one of the announcers say Alonso now has a lot of work to do to beat Vettel in the drivers' championship. I disagree. He's 13 points behind now but there are still three races to go. I think Alonso is up to the task as a driver and the key is the cars. Red Bull pulled ahead in the development race so it's not so much Alonso vs. Vettel; Ferrari have a lot of work to do to beat Adrian Newey.
Lotus has picked up Kimi Räikkönen's 2013 contract option, meaning the driver will stay with the team for a second season. The team confirmed the deal in a press release on Monday. “I think my return to Formula One has gone pretty well and the team has done a very good job all year so far,” said Räikkönen in a statement. “To be honest, I didn't expect to be fighting for the drivers' championship this season when you look at where the team was in 2011, so it has been great to be on the podium so many times and to score points on a regular basis. “I feel very comfortable with Lotus F1 Team and we share the same philosophy of racing. Continuing with the team was an obvious choice for me and I'm looking forward to making another step forward together next year.” Read more: Kimi Räikkönen confirmed at Lotus for 2013 - Autoweek
Did you miss the first lap? Hamilton, Button and Alonso put on a display of the finest driving, for both skill and good behaviour, that we are ever likely to see. Watching it in slow motion still takes my breath away - and those are twenty- and thirty-somethings, not guys with the reaction speed of a fourteen-year-old. But, yeah, after that wasn't so good. Except for the good camerawork on the guys shedding the complete tread off their rear wheels after a puncture....
That first lap was real edge of the seat stuff. Newcomers to F1 should be required to watch that. Later in the race we got to see Webber weave all over the straight in an effort to block Alonso. Later we got to see Rosberg do the same thing to Senna.
Yawn....seems that the Red Bull domination has returned leaving all others fighting for a position on the podium next to Vettel... Great team and driver they are but it does take some of the fun out of watching the races when Seb gaps the field like that in the first couple laps.
I think the fact that Seb can put a second a lap on the field in the first few laps on cold tires, then make those 20 lap tires last 32 laps is very indicative of his skill level, not luck or just a good car. It is clear that Red Bull has found something they didn't have earlier in the season, but don't forget they had two other races won earlier in the year when their alternator failed. Anything can happen but I think the rest of the field is going to be chasing Seb to the end. The one equalizer could be Austin, where no one has run before.
Agreed. I think Vettle is amazing and I'd be happy to see him win again. I like the Red Bull team. I root for them. I was rooting for Webber but a combo of iffy equipment and Alonso driving like the champ he is put him down into 3rd. Austin will be a slick cluster. I suspect they guys that are good in the wet will rise to the top of the heap there. I've really been enjoying these races. I'm sorry that you guys don't seem to be. Perhaps you should follow a different series.
