Here's Pirelli's analysis of the last race - the really interesting bit is that they may give the teams an extra set of tires for P1 so that their reserve drivers can get experience on the tracks. Sounds pretty cool to me. He also addresses when or if they may change the tire compounds.

Dougie Lampkin was one of those guys, like Senna, that took a sport (trials riding - not trail riding) to an entirely new level.
But even so, I bet that was an old Red Bull that they let him jump across....-

Great race! Loved the "I can't drive any slower!" Radio transmission..

In the old days they nursed gearboxes, or engines, or fuel. Now they nurse tires. It's better than lining them up, fastest to slowest, giving them tires that last all race and acting surprised when the finishing order is the same as the start. There'd be no reason to watch anything other than qualies if that were the case.

With the lead he maintained and watching the race, 90% sounds about right.

Apparently it was only MB that tire tested for three days, get this, using their 2013 car, a complete violation of the rules. Red Bull and Ferrari have now filed an official complaint.
This is how a team with horrid tire wear to this point in the season, can suddenly go from zero to hero in two weeks. If Rosberg wins today it should be thrown out.-

Merc is trying to say they that didn't know what tires were being tested. It doesn't matter because they still got an advantage of testing and the ability to change the car based on the tire info. They should be DQed from the race.

I would love to have the power of a small economy car added to mine at the push of a button. Would make passing on the highway EPIC.

MB's consistent third place cars before their private test and Monte Carlo, when? ...
Note: For the second race in a row after that test they have been on the podium and have had no problems with excessive tire degradation... Nope, nothing to see here.
Twas a great race second back with the battle between Hamilton and Alonso being the highlight of the day!!!-
