I'd have thrown that fancy steering wheel under a tire. It was a nice bit of comic relief seeing that car roll away. Glad it didn't roll into someone on track.

Martin Brunlde explains the wheel nut - seeing it in action near the end of the video is clearer than that explanation above, methinks

It seems to me they haven't understood the problem - it's not cars in the pit lane that cause the problem, but loose wheels. If they just banned wheel changing during pitstops, they wouldn't have a problem.

Sheesh, even my granny could have worked that one out....:mad2:

They use to have one but after the tire war was over they went to the multiple compounds like Indy cars. I think their goal was not to have another overly dominant team like Ferrari. Well that didn't work.

I've always loved the look of that era's cars.

They scream SPEED at the top of their lungs, and don't care who's listening.

They'll all have the same deltas per stop. This will make a bigger difference though when one driver does more stops than another.

Amazingly If one were going to penalize Grosjean for a pass during this race it most certainly shouldn't have been this one, which was a great move and a clean pass. If one were to be in question it might have been the pass where he cut the corner "after" the pass, but even that one looked good at best and he should have been forced to give the position back only at worst. Sadly the penalty handed the race to Hamilton to loose, as Grosjean looked to be the only other competitor that "might" have been able to mount a challenge.

For what ever reason, the stewards completely dropped the ball here, and you can't or shouldn't punish someone for past mistakes.

Now ask yourself which team benefited most by Lotus not having two cars on the podium.....

In 2011 he was steward twice, Monaco and Hungary. Both of those race he dinged Hamilton. The Wiki article does not say why.

That's curious - the BBC played a clip from the car's on-board camera that clearly showed him going well outside the white line with all four wheels. And presumably this was from exactly the same feed that NBC were broadcasting.

True but had he not moved over he would have collided with Massa, who Grojean was along side of. Massa clearly pushed him out in a blocking maneuver. It was a no call or a penalty on Massa.

Grosjean was along side Massa, Grosjean had a right to his line as much as Massa did his If Grosjean had driven down into Massa. They were side by side, Massa forced Grosjean off, had Grosjean held his line there would have been a collision. There was no advantage gained, nor lost when Groajean went outside the line, only a collision avoided, he owed Massa no position as he was already fully along side (actually ahead of) Massa before being forced out.

Look at the replay, at :04-05, Massa's front wheel was BEHIND Grosjean's front wheel before Grosjean avoided Massa and drove outside the line. He was leading Massa.

It was good racing and should have been a no call.

Note: I am a Ferrari fan first and foremost.;)

I think you have to bear in mind that the last thing Grosjean wanted, apart from not getting past Massa, was to hit him or be hit by him. With his record over the last year, that wouldn't have been good.

And then he goes and hits Button later (without harm to either, I think) due to carelessness!

Those of you that were doing their maths to see if the tire testing helped can now have a lot more maths to chew on.
