Massa should have shown a backbone long before this. I don't think Fernando has anything to worry about concerning Massa's new found backbone.

Anyone else miffed that F1 is getting short shrift yet again but now with NBC Sports?

So much for all the great live coverage we are going to see.

If you ignore Vettel running away out front the rest of the race was great. There was lots of passing, challenges for position, and different strategies. The racing was good even if the guy you like didn't win.

My dad always said fishing is always good even if the catching isn't. I didn't agree with him on that. But I do feel that way about most racing.

I'm not dissing Vettel for winning or for being a skilled driver. I just didn't find the race all that interesting, even further back the field for some reason.

He's proven his skill as a driver over and over, and no one can doubt that he's extraordinarily talented. I am curious though, if he could be that skilled in a car that doesn't suit his driving style so perfectly. Can he make a different car work as well?

We'll find out next year, when areo might be less dominant and engine power will be the new thing to work with.

    :)

And I can guarantee you that the car is designed around Vettel. Drivers all have a different way of driving a car and it is obvious that they have different styles. Mark has said in the past that he can't seem to get the same race performance from the car. This is just more proof that the driver and car combination are what gets the championship done, not just driving.

True enough, if it rains hard enough we could see Valteri Bottas in the #1 spot! That kid can drive in the rain!

The rain really shows who can drive, takes the car out of the equation. The cream rises to the top as they say. Love rain races.

    No, they are not sound.....

Vettel gets on the power 150 feet (50 meters) before anyone else? do you realize how far that is? No freaking way....I think Mr. Minardi may have been sampling a wee bit too much grape from his skybox.

Analysis: Vettel’s astonishing speed in Singapore – here to stay?

One of the most commented aspects of the Singapore Grand Prix was the astonishing speed of Sebastian Vettel, particularly in the opening laps and the initial laps after the safety car. There have been many questions about how this was achieved and some interesting observations, such as Giancarlo Minardi’s comments about a strange sound coming from Vettel’s exhaust in these phases.

Here with the input of JA on F1 technical adviser Mark Gillan, former Williams F1 team chief operations engineer, is our analysis of Vettel’s speed and a consideration of why it was so noticeable in Singapore and whether it is here to stay for the rest of the 2013 season.

    That was an interesting race.

S Korea will now be looked at in more detail as to if there will be a race there again after that one incident.

The way I saw it that truck was guarded properly by the flag stations. No driver should have been surprised to find it on track. As far as the response to the fire goes, it was pretty damned poor. What if Webber had been injured & unable to exit the car on his own. At an SCCA regional you'd see corner workers performing at a higher level.

I found this to be an enjoyable race. Sure would have been fun had Lotus let Romain challenge Kimi.

Yup. In fact, he also said "I cannot" as in "No, I cannot ..." I couldn't make out the rest, something about downforce, I think.

Boullier's transmission may have been meant as an order, sounded that way, but based on Grosjean's words and the frustrated tone in his voice I'd say Boullier's order (?) was probably unnecessary.

Call this unlikely if you like, but he may have merely been reacting to Grosjean's tone, trying to keep him from overreaching by following his engineer's order and possibly causing 1 or even 2 Lotus DNFs just 5 laps from the race finish. Seems pretty smart to me.
