Maybe McLaren should put the part in upside down again if it make the car faster![]()

I think Vettel did exactly what he should, and I think Rosberg should have passed the Haminator too.
Are they race car drivers or chauffeurs?
Would Senna have sat back and waited for the end of the race?
Would Schumi?
Would Villeneuve?
Would Alonso?
Would Mansell?
I think it has far less to to with nationality and more to do with a racer's mentality....a true racer charges, he doesn't lay back.
And I think if Webbo could have held him back or out driven him, he would have. Likewise, if Webbo could have passed him back he would have. I don't think he could..... and since Webba did the same thing to Vettel at Silverstone (short memory syndrome?) I don't think he really has any room to complain, and showing the #1 to Vettel as Vettel passed him reeks of poor sportsmanship.
That being said, if any of them ran out of gas before the end of the race, that's down to the engineers to figure out how to get enough gas into the car to finish (and win) the race under racing conditions, this is not the Mobil economy run....
However, bottom line, the drivers work for the team and the team principal is in charge - it's their job to follow what he says. The drivers do not know if the engineers are trying to save gas, or a motor or a gearbox.....or what.
Will they penalize Vettel for winning the race? Hardly, that would set a bad precedent too.
Horns of a dilemma, that's for sure. But I think a team should clearly identify their #1 driver, and if the #2 driver is not prepared to support the teams efforts, either change to a team where HE can be the #1, or outqualify and outdrive the #1 guy and become #1 himself.
Vettel outqualifies Webba at every race unless he has a mechanical problem, he out-starts him almost every time, and he almost always outraces him. Webba is #2, plain and simple. That said, he's #2 on arguably the best team on the grid, year in and year out - should he really complain?-

SPOILER ALERT KIND OF!!!
Interesting quali.. Kind off!!!
I must say that the induced tire degradation just feels too artificial now. They just might as well install Bernie's TSS (track sprinkler system). Three time champion and championship leader not even trying to get the pole? Are you effing kidding me? Sorry I want to see racing at its utmost and not handcuffed by some convoluted "well intentioned" competition enhancements.-

Jenson Button has launched a furious attack on McLaren team mate Sergio Perez after the Mexican driver repeatedly tussled with his British counterpart during yesterday’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
‘Checo’s behaviour out there was ridiculous,’ Button fumed last night. ‘Apparently he was doing something called ‘racing’ in which a driver tries to get past another driver to enable them to obtain a better finishing position and therefore score more world championship points. I’ve never heard of anything so dangerous in my life.’
Button was quick to rebuff suggestions that TV viewers might have enjoyed seeing the two McLarens in wheel-to-wheel combat on the Bahrain circuit. ‘Yea, apparently some people found it ‘entertaining’ or something,’ the British driver snapped. ‘And honestly, they’re completely missing the point of the sport. Formula 1 isn’t about two well-matched cars relentlessly overtaking each other in a tense battle of nerve and skill; Formula 1 is about carefully looking after your tyres and waiting for people with laptops to calculate a strategy for pit stops and fuel conservation.’
‘Look, I had enough of this ‘overtaking’ shite with the last guy,’ the Frome-born racer concluded in that funny voice of his that sounds like he needs to do a big cough. ‘With him gone, this season I was promised a biotch. Does anyone have a number for Felipe Massa?’

Pirelli is only doing what Bernie asked them too......I hope they don't change the formulations....at other tracks there have been teams that could run 2 or even 1 stoppers.
If they change now all the information the teams have goes out the window - a bad idea unless they're going to allow another test session.... but even if they do then they will increase the distance between the teams that can afford to test and those that can't.
I say leave them alone and let the teams get on with it.
This race showed that you can run hard and still win, even with lots of stops.
Poor Mercedes, they have a huge advantage in performance - for one lap or two - then they just start marching to the rear. I don't know what they can do to fix it, nor McLaren either.... their last year's car was quicker and easier to drive than this years, but they can't go backwards now. But to be this far behind Lotus, Mercedes and Force India in the constructor's at this point of the season has to be frustrating and even embarrassing. $900 million dollar facility to run 6th? Yikes!
At first I thought the Hamster's move to Mercedes was going to be a brilliant stroke of timing and good fortune, now I'm not so sure.
I wonder if Mercedes will adopt Ferrari's idea and just go for it, let the tire stops fall where they may, or if they're going to try and run this same conservative pace approach? I know the Hamster would like to be cut loose, and allowed to just go for it......
Going to be an interesting season, that's for sure.-

BBC Sport - Red Bull boss on Pirelli tyres: 'F1 nothing to do with racing any more'
With commentary. Emphases are mine.
Answer:  Because it's easier to cry about a problem we don't know how to solve than to look for a real solution.
Lotus made a better car than Red Bull in this respect, and Kimi's a better driver than Vettel. (ducks)

I don't understand all the Red Bull hate here.....all they did was take a backmarker to a World Champion in a few short seasons....and I do not think they did it by cheating.
This reminds me of all the anti-Ferrari rants where folks are always complaining that Ferrari has Bernie and the FIA on the payroll or something, but when they stop winning all that seems to go away.
We're just watching from the sidelines, unless we have money invested somewhere in an F1 team, I don't think these kinds of remarks are accurate or appropriate.
Let's just watch the show and enjoy it for what it is - entertainment!-

I don't hate Red Bull, I'm just poking fun at them because they're complaining so much about the tyre thing.
During the whole blown diffuser thing a few years ago, I thought the other teams were whining too much about Red Bull's advantage. They should have stepped up to figure how to make that work for them rather than getting blown diffusers banned.
Red Bull's a fine team, with fine drivers and I don't mind if they win. I do however feel like making fun of them for leading in both the drivers and constructors championships, then complaining about having to work harder for the win, that's all.
Besides, if there wasn't some polarizing, meaningless shout-fest controversy, then it wouldn't be F1.-

Don't think anyone is hating on Red Bull really, they have done a stellar job the last few seasons.... That said, it is rather comical to hear them whining now, and they still reside atop the points standings....
Bit of head them off at the pass me thinks...
PS: ...and for many, all the speculation is a part of the entertainment. Otherwise we would all just be watching Mickey Mouse cartoons.-

Budget? Not for lack of budget that Red Bull didn't run well in Spain and it sure as heck ain't for lack of budget that MB is stinking up every track they got to...
To do a tire compound change this far into the season will hurt more than help those teams that are actually running on a limited budget.-

Read that last two paragraphs. This was clearly a rules violation....no way did MB, the worst team for tire wear, wind up at a three day tire test with this year's cars and both their drivers by mistake, or because not one of the other teams showed up.
This is MB and Bernie in a back room somewhere.
This isn't about Rosberg, I like him and think he's a solid driver but his horse was juiced for this race.:sly:-

LOL... I absolutely love how some proclaim to know the truth based on a few published snippets held together by the glue of suspicion mixed with personal feelings.
How about letting them run another race? If the results are repeatable and verifiable (MB on top again when they should not have been) , then start throwing rocks.-
