So who is going to be smart enough to grab Bottas for next year? If the race would have been in the wet it would have been great to see what he could have done. I'll look forward to a good wet race just to see how he does.

I'm surprised the post above what the first that mentioned McLaren.

Their streak of 64 consecutive races with a driver in the points was broken in Canada. They are having big issues over there. Maybe Hamilton did see some writing on wall when he jumped ship.

Wet races are the great equalizer. The cream rises to the top. I too would have loved to seen a wet race. Bottas faded rather quickly in the dry.

Wow 15 years. I haven't heard any track get a contract that long. I guess that means when COTA's deal is up that will be the end for it. I hope not. I just have a hard time seeing the US supporting 2 races. Now if we got some American drives and an American team that would be different. Are you listening Roger Penske?

The triple Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel has agreed to a contract extension with Red Bull to the end of 2015.

So much for those Vettel and Alonso at Ferrari rumors.

Don't see why Seb would leave. He is in a top team with a top car & being paid top money. Plus he more than likely will be on the top step of the podium holding the world title again.

Even if he was fed up with RB, that wasn't going to happen. If Vettel ever moves to Ferrari it won't be until Alonso leaves, maybe for a transitional year when Alonso is on his way out but that probably wouldn't happen either. Ferrari demand each driver know his place (i.e., there's a clear #1 and #2) and follow the team's orders without exception. Neither Alonso nor Vettel would accept the #2 position and Vettel has shown himself to be clearly unwilling to take orders. I'm not judging him either way on that last point, just saying he's not a good fit at Ferrari.....esp. if he isn't dubbed their #1 driver.

    True, if they're plausible.

My guess is unless RB thought Alonso might be on the verge of a surprise retirement they didn't give the rumor a second thought. Then again, I'm not Christian Horner...

Me thinks that the brain trust at RB knows all to well that when it comes to Ferrari and it's allure, anything is possible and nothing, even rumors, should be taken for granted.

Besides, if your an F1 driver, there is only one thing better than winning an F1 Driver's championship, and that is winning one in a Ferrari.... Priceless!:D

    Welcome, Z06!

I was just at CoTA for the Aussie supercars race - if you haven't been there yet it's a fantastic venue - you're gonna love it!

was ready to go last year and had a death in the immediate family the day before I was leaving, so i gave my tickets to my buddy I was going with and he found someone to use them.

This year I have instructed everyone in my family to remain healthy....at least until AFTER the CoTA F1 race, then they can do what they want !

We are in turn 9 bleachers...cannot wait...

We were sitting right near the sart line, row 3-4 on the grid. It was a fun race. Sadly I can't make it this year.
