An article on Jalopnik asks a fairly entertaining question. Does Perez deserve praise for his aggressive driving style or a punch in the face like Kimi Raikkonen says?

I will agree that we are at least viewing the season very differently....
Drivers points after Spain and then just two races later after Canada:
Hamilton- after Spain 50 - after Canada 77
Rosberg- after Spain 22 - after Canada 57
Manufacturers points:
MB- after Spain 72 - after Canada 134-

Interesting video on the F1 site of the Ferrari. http://www.formula1.com/news/technical/2013/0/1077.html
It shows, but doesn't mention, a opening in the under side of the nose. Probably to cool the driver and other things. But maybe it has other uses too.
But even more interesting, but also not mentioned, is the front "brake duct". It's the plate style that pulls air in from between the tire and it. The back side has a number of fins that are all canted to apply down force directly on the tire. Not that I want Ferrari to get in trouble. But wouldn't this be considered a movable aero device? The suspension arms need to be aero neutral. I also thought there was an old rule against any down force being unsprung. hmmmm:idea:-

So, I just recently was directed to this site as we placed our Mini order yesterday. I knew there would be Mini fanatics on this site, but I had no idea there would be F1 fans as well.....
I truly am in automotive heaven :biggrin5:
Ordered my tickets for Austin yesterday-

Actually makes sense, as only rear lefts were exploding, would seem that there had to be some outside assistance and not just a failure of tire design or there would have been other failures.... Still, the design seems a bit fragile to this armchair engineer..

By the way, I respect that your opinion on this differs from mine. I'm just trying to explain why I feel the way I do, and using what facts I have available as part of that explanation.
Besides, it wouldn't be F1 without some kind of passionate disagreement over minutia or sporting politics, no?-

I think the race could come to the boys in red, eventually.......if they don't lose too much time at the beginning running the Prime tires when everyone else is on options......
When the other teams dive into the pits for new tires before lap 10, the Ferrari boys will still be motoring on, and the others will come out on primes for the rest of the race, so Ferrari will have commensurate pace till the last 10laps, when they'll switch to options and run away on light fuel load.
The start is going to be a mess, Lewis and Vettel will streak off, Webba will streak backwards, and everyone else will be dodging madly around him, so first lap will be crazy, and Alonso will be up to 4th or 5th easily. From there, on heavy fuel load, they'll only have to stay as close as possible to the leaders and they'll be golden.
That's how I see it......
We'll know tomorrow morning.-
