Uh oh, here's the sort of thing they're wearing today in Sepang...sign of things to come for the race weekend?

Malaysia is at the end of Monsoon Season, and those showers don't always show up on radar. The showers should be relatively short and the heat will probably bake off the tarmac rather quickly.

Maybe McLaren should put the part in upside down again if it make the car faster:rolleyes:

I understand having the tire degrade faster can make the race more interesting. But having the throwing off chunks after a hand full of laps today is ridiculous. It was so bad a chunk flew up onto the top camera and half covered the lens. The slow-mo videos showing the tires falling apart tells the story. Then Pirelli says it was within what they were expecting.

I have a better idea to improve the show. Freeze the tracks into ice and have the cars run studded snow tires. It's just as bad to F1 as this is.:incazzato:

Bernie's idea of a sprinkler system to water down the track is a good one. Nothing better than a rain race if you ask me. Really evens the field out, the best car does not matter it becomes the best driver. That being said Kimi would be plenty fast on ice me thinks. :ihih:

I usually ignore anything from Helmut Marko, seems like he's usually about as in touch with the real world as Bernie, but there are a few good points in this interview.

Anyone know what the two new items on the telemetry graphic are? I assume the two gears are just for the looks. But what is the changing number next to them? Just bellow the gear indicator?

I haven't noticed it, plus can't see it clearly in your pic, and already deleted the quali so I can't even look for it! So...no clue here. Gonna try to check it out during the race.

Was able to undelete the quali on my DVR, rewind and take a better pic. It's the numbers in orange just bellow the gear indicator to the right of the two cogs and just above the throttle. I love technology:

They explained it during the race. It's a counter for the number of gear shifts during the lap. Lets offer up an honorable mention to whoever posts a picture with the highest number.

I haven't seen the race yet so couldn't provide any spoilers even if I wanted to. I do know there seems to have been significant controversy of some sort...or sorts. And now I have to spend the entire day elsewhere and might not be able to watch until tomorrow! :prrr:

That was some race and some interesting finish with even more interesting podium moments.

Good thing there is 3 weeks till the next one as this one will be discussed in the press quite a bit.
