Wow we're still on the team order thing. How many drivers if F1 have defied team orders?

It's like when Schumi took out Hill. That was said over and over again for years. But everyone forgot Prost and Senna taking each other out in back to back years.

Crashton is right that Vettel is young and hasn't learned the finesse. He may never learn it. Does Kimi really have the off track finesse?

Vettel is a very good driver in a very good car. The perfect combination. Just like Schumi and Ferrari, Senna and McLaren, Mansel and Williams.

Red Bull may not be your team. Vettel may not be your driver. But you have to respect them for what they have achieved. I have more respect for Hamilton after seeing what he can do at Merc. He just isn't consistent doing it.

Some may think it boring with the same guy winning but it still better than NASCAR.

That's a tough call. Lewis currently leads the Top Gear F1 Drivers boards (one second faster than Seb!), but Kimi drove in very wet conditions. But then when Lewis drove in the wet as well, he was still faster than Kimi.

Alonso is not on the board.

My gut feeling is that Alonso would win in a four-way race. I have no real arguments to back that up though.

I agree, but with the reason is that Alonso wants it more, would dig deeper and push more.

Yeah, it turns out that, for best handling and grip, not only must a F1 tyre be in the right temperature range, it has to be attached to the front suspension by more than the safety tether.

    Massa out at Ferrari...

In a message that was posted on his Twitter feed, Massa said: "From 2014 I will no longer be driving for Ferrari."

Where will Massa likely go and who replaces him with the Prancing Ponies?

I was surprised he lasted this long.......so, who's in?

I heard the only reason they kept him this year is that he was the cheapest 1st tier driver in F1

The smart money is speculating that Kimi will replace Massa.

At least that is the scuttlebutt all over the interwebs today. Ferrari is supposed to make the announcement on Wednesday. We all have to wait.

    NBC Sports reports:

"Felipe Massa has told the world he will not return to Ferrari in 2014. That leaves one very likely replacement at the Scuderia, in the form of Kimi Raikkonen.

According to a BBC report, Raikkonen’s deal with Ferrari was “said to be completed on Monday.†That would see Raikkonen back at the team where he won the 2007 Formula One World Championship, but was dismissed after the 2009 season for Fernando Alonso.
    .....
The BBC suggests Nico Hulkenberg would move into Lotus, then, to replace Raikkonen."

Massa was driving his Ferrari too fast. Not on the track, but on the way to it.

Massa was given a $214 speeding ticket by Italian police on his way to last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix race for exceeding the speed limit in his silver Ferrari 458.

It's kind of a shame really. He's had more starts for Ferrari than anyone except Schumi, and in 2008 he was driving fantastically. Too bad he's just not been the same since his accident.

    Still, it's time.

    Good luck Felipe!

Sad for Massa, he has nothing to be ashamed of when one looks at his record at Ferrari... But Lotus is the biggest looser here...

Honestly, I am surprised by the extremely low proportion of income from endorsements for the F1 guys. Perhaps I should get into F1 driver management?

Ferrari today confirmed the hotly anticipated news that Kimi Raikkonen has been re-hired for a two year contract starting in 2014.

If anything, that'll make Alonso push even harder next year.
