I HATE THE NEW COVERAGE!!!!!!!!!
Ok i feel a little better........but damn. If they are going to not have the commentators do a commercial break then don't show the F'ing commercials!!!
How many track issues happened during the breaks and we got no idea what the hell happened.
Anyone got a source for race torrents/downloads?-

This makes me wonder if F1 screwed up the feed to push folks to F1's paid streaming service.
Not a good race by any means today.
I'm sure it will get better. At least I hope so. Fingers crossed. -

I'm hopeful that with all the public criticism they'll be leagues better in two weeks at Bahrain, if not - they face one hell of a battle for continued viewership.
With the actual racing being so ..."non-eventful".......they need something to bring the viewers in, for me the commentary by Matchett and Varsha was a large part of the draw. I'm not seeing the draw with the current guys on Sky - I've met Martin Brundle and like him a bunch, but the other guy des most of the shouting and I can do without him, just like I could do without Leigh Daffey - the other guy who simply can't shut up. -
I was disappointed that the most important and exciting parts of the race happened during commercial breaks.
Disappointed that the same thing happened to both cars on the same team.
The idea that Mercedes got their timing off due to a software miscalculation doesn't sound like a plausible explanation.
I wished the Honda motors did better than what they did in this race.
I am happy that the race was broadcast on cable on a channel I have, and I was able to PVR the race. -

Me either.

I know that Martin Brundle has the street creds but Will Buxton has the knowledge and the on camera where with all to be so, so much better. I enjoy f1 as much as
everyone but I was plain disappointed in the whole thing. -

Yes F1 has always been about the long game. I just don't like all the BS that sounds it these days. I don't like the push to pass or that once you are within a second of the person ahead of you are given an advantage. But most of all I feel like they have forgotten the fans. I don't have to see a bunch of passes to make a race exciting. I love WRC there is no passing in WRC. I could go on about the ugly cars, engines that sound like crap, all the PC BS, not to mention they got rid of the grid girls (thats a joke), over paid prima donnas. And now they want me to pay, um yea right

I don't complain about how it used to be, I only feel that it could be so much better than it is.......now. Tomorrow's race will probably be a case in point, with the pole leader out clear in front from ding to dong and the rest dicing it up for leftovers.
The real racing in F1 has always been the mid pack, where they are so closely matched that any one of them could come out in 5th or 6th........ -
I’m not saying it’s perfect - I’d rather that DRS go away too, and the grid penalties for engine swaps have gotten pretty ridiculous. The extra DRS zones aren’t really helpful either but I do see the potential in allowing the drivers to get close enough for some real action in the twisty bits. Though, reducing the reliance on aero would let that happen too. Do I have a better solution? Not really, but I understand those gripes.
Despite those issues though, I feel like it’s pretty much the same sport it’s always been. We’ve always complained about silly nonsense rules and we’ve rarely seen good fights at the front.
I’m kind of hopeful for today though - Lewis will have to carve his way through some pretty determined drivers if he wants a podium in his car that is otherwise painted on the road. And the sand at Bahrain can make some corners very tricky, if the wind is wrong, so it’d be easy for an over enthusiastic driver to go off and lose a place or 3.
I was hoping Kimi’d get on the pole, but with Seb there, it’s more likely that yeah, he’ll revert to his old Red Bull days and we won’t see much of him until the podium. But then like I said, the leader driving off into the distance is totally normal in F1 and always has been. -
Great final laps for sure & thumbs up to Gasly.
