Here's a surprise, Charles Leclerc is going to Haas! Moving from the Junior Junior Ferrari team to the Junior Ferrari team! I think it's a good move for him and Haas.

So many 1st lap (even 1st turn) crashes. I guess everybody jostling for position because most races are practically over after the 1st lap. Here's a thought... make all of the races 2 laps! It wouldn't be boring.

I have to agree with you. After the restart the race was a yawner.

Looks like the red cars have surpassed the silver cars. I wonder if the Benz boys can find a few more horses this week.

The Hamster looked pretty glum after the race, I expect it will be the same way at Monza this weekend. Nice to see the tables turned (at freaking llast!) on the Mercs, they've had it all their way for 5 years now. The mid pack has gotten more interesting, with Sauber (!) running in the top 10 almost every race, Haas and the boys in Pink doing the same, and even the Honda powered Toro Rosso able to get there some weekends. Renault - when they stop crashing - can be there too.....but I really don't know if Danny Ricky Bobby is making a good move or not. I know why he went ($$$$) that he could'nt have gotten from Haas or the Pinkys, but Renault clearly have some work to do to be challenging for race wins.

    2 scenarios I am imagining.

    1) Ferrari has finally developed a car to Vettel's liking and Vettel runs away with it like in the Red Bull years.
    2) Since both Mercedes and Ferrari introduced new engines, and Mercedes have not been all that reliable, Mercedes had their spec turned down a bit for this race and will unleash it's true potential at Monza as revenge for Silverstone.

Happy the HALO device did its thing.

Since I no longer have F1 on my cable package, and it seems the F1 app is not available in Canada either, I only got to watch the highlights on Youtube.

Ferrari and Vettel make too many mistakes. Allowing Raikkonen to get the tow and pole was a poor decision. It’s Vettel, not Raikkonen that is fighting for the championship! This from the team that used team orders and a clear number one driver to the benefit of M. Schumacher for all those years! Hamilton is the man.

    Hoist the pirate flag, matey.

But be warned - NEVER download anything from this site - no matter what it says. Adware is rampant.

Or for a less risky option there are torrents - SKY usually gets uploaded pretty quickly after the race if you don’t mind watching it later in the evening. That’s what I did for years until I was finally given the legal option.

Yes Ferrari is fond of telling driver's to let the golden boy pass. I remember them doing that to Rubens many times along with the infamous "Fernando is faster than you" to Felipe.

I think what got Vettel at Monza was his being so upset not to get pole. Caused him to drive in anger with predictable results. He was darned lucky not to be a DNF. Climbing back to 5th & then 4th thanks to a gift by Max was like a win.

I really wanted Kimi to win since I figure he's out of Ferrari next year. Should have pitted him 10 laps later. Benz set a trap & he stepped in it.

No question that Ferrari's strategy has cost them race wins, and that Vettel is making way too many mistakes…...like Rosberg says, you can't make mistakes like this and win the title against the Hamster. Not gonna happen.....MBZ definitely made all the right calls in this race.

I guess the 2019 season started out boring enough that nobody even bothered to open a new thread. :p
But things have actually been interesting lately.

I think the races have been pretty good. I like that the red cars are keeping the silver ones on their toes.

Yes, but Mercedes is still doing a better job with both their race strategy and their reliability. I guess when you turn it up to 11, sometimes it goes bust.

Not to mention Bottas running interference for everyone behind the Hamster, so he can scamper away. No 2 is clearly defined on that team, and at this point it doesn't even matter as the Hammie is so far ahead in the scoring.

You can't fault them for doing a better job than anyone else but it does make for some boring races, until Spa this season was just the same o same o.....I expect some interesting moments, but the championship has been done for a while now.

The infighting between both Ferrari drivers is doing the team no good at all.

Agreed, but Vettel had this one by the throat till his engine went poof, and it easily would have been a Ferrari 1-2. Ferrari don't really care which driver wins and which comes in 2nd, they are only concerned with constructors points......

Yes it was Vettel's race to lose, which he did. Not his fault this time. Ferrari is all about the team & the driver's be damned. I like the fact that Benz seems to care about the drivers.

I am a little behind. I watched the Russian race yesterday, as a Ferrari fan it was disappointing. I will watch Japan some time in the next day or two.
