Agreed - good season so far.. that said, I need to catch up on a few. Regarding Sauber (or Haas)... would love to see someone else be able to jump into the mix..
I'd love to see Sauber do well, but I'm sure we won't see them up front. They need points to survive & the last couple of years has been a point free seasons. I do think Haas can & should be able to score points more than they do. They are the home town team so I'm really pulling for them. Good season so far I'm enjoying the fight at the front.
Yea - wasn’t it Perez who also had this reputation for a little while? That said, he does have skills.. if a team can digest the learning curve IMO.
In some ways I like that, but in some ways it could get really distracting. I get “why” for the halo.. and I prefer it over enclosed I think... that said I love prototype racing.. which is enclosed and can look better.
Max Verstappan has a huge amount of talent. The trouble is he is in a car that is not a front runner on a consistent basis. His youth makes him take chances trying hail marry passes. When they work he's the hero, when they don't he's the new Maldonado. Given enough time & a front running car he'll be winning on a regular basis. My .02.
I haven't watched the race yet. I just saw the results and some highlights. So don't spoil for me until tonight. For some reason, it didn't surprise me that Verstappen took somebody out again. It's just more exasperating when it's your own teammate. I'll find something to complain about later....
This may have been one of the best F1 race I’ve seen. I can’t wait until the premium service comes up for all the action that they DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO SHOW.
I was actually impressed with the coverage. Only thing I would have changed would have been a bit more commentary on some of the replays.
News on the streaming options... https://jalopnik.com/you-can-now-stream-all-the-f1-you-want-for-somewhere-be-1825927119?utm_campaign=socialflow_jalopnik_facebook&utm_source=jalopnik_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve got the Pro option, and so far it’s pretty good. They need to fill out the archived races more, and for some reason Baku’s race still isn’t up in full, just the highlights. I’m currently watching the replay of today’s FP1, and will check out the second session live at 9 this morning. It does run OK in Safari on iOS as well, so no need to watch on a computer.
So watching live is less than ideal, as with many early streaming services it pauses randomly. I expect they’ll fix that eventually. Edited to Add - The F1 App is pretty cool though, live timing and decent “radio” coverage of the action, so you can see where the cars are, follow a specific driver, look at corner details, and have a good running plays by play with transcripts of the team radio, so that’s good. The onboard video for the drivers seems to work fairly well, though since it’s just their view and the radio calls, there’s not a lot to watch during practice. It does seem cooler for post race sesssions if you want to see how your driver fought through the field to get into the points. So yeah, it has some rough edges right now, but with luck I won’t have to hoist the pirate flag much longer.
