    This was at the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend. The car is a Lotus Renault and driven by Russan driver Vitaly Petrov.

    What do you wanna bet he had to change his diapers...:eek6:

    Well, they do have wings...

    He came down hard and the steering column or column mount broke so the steering wheel was still in his hands but a bit like it was just chained to the car. He walked away unscathed and claimed it wasn't scary at all!

    prolly more scary for the engineers who knew they were gonna have to replace some parts after this failed attempt at joining the Red Bull team...ITS A METAPHORE...its doesnt ACTUALLY give you wings!!!

    There was some speculation from the announcers that the steering might have caused the incident, not the other way around. I have not seen any follow up information on it. :confused5:

    I watched it a number of times at different speeds and the wheel was firm and in place until he landed on the curbing. The instant the car bottomed out the wheel dropped.

    Yeah....
    GM is using the same racing wheel in the Cruze, they are planning a big splash about their connection to F1 racing. Their advert people are working on a rush blitz.... It'll be in all the auto mags soon.
