I remember watching the race & seeing that pit fire. Scarey stuff for sure, darned lucky no one was severely injured. I believe Steve Machett was in the pit that day.

    Hot damn!

I saw this video a few days ago. Lame narration, poorly done, ruined it for me. I remember thinking "if only that narrator would shut up, he's drowning out all that beautiful engine music in the background!" Or something like that.

Apparently I wasn't the only one because due to "popular demand" they released a w/o narration version.

Full screen, volume up, enjoy. :D

Not specifically F1, but this is as good a place as any. How quickly can you identify the tracks?

    WARNING!

If you have good speakers, etc, and you have the volume turned all the way up when you click the play button, odds are you're in for a shock.

Just think if BMW had that motor in their new cars they wouldn't have to

pump the exhaust sounds through the radio speakers to make it sound...

    ...fast!

I remember the first time I heard a Matra engine. It was in Long Beach and it was the most amazing sound that resonated off the buildings that surrounded that street course. Awesome to be sure!

OMG, Over a minute between the first and second place cars! F1 will never survive that kind of domination!

Back in those days depending on the track the winning car used to lap the

    majority of the field.

That's some fine old footage there. Man with today's F1 cars one forgets how spindly those of GP cars of old were. Oh & that track they were racing on, wow.
