Hay I'm glad you get it. I really hope your F56 is the funniest car you have ever had! Not sure where you live but if you make it to the Dragon next year the donuts are on me! :biggrin5:
If it weren't for my day job, I would find a shack in the woods out that way too! You brought up a good point in the similarities between Jeeps and MINIs... The JK owners are the black sheep. People argue up and down that its not a true rugged 4X4, and I agree with them... Even though I own one!
Cool. I'll probably see you around. My Girlfriend lives in Hendersonville, which is right outside Asheville. I get out that way every chance I get.
What's there not to like about the F? Can't really find any. -Perfect for mad modders. Like R99 who's CC'ing everything. Got wheels 1st before the car only to find it's got new PCD & fitment. Needs ball seat lugs to fit most VAG rims. Coilovers a must out the showroom..... Again, perfect for project builds. -Finally, a MINI we won't need to check oil level!!! Woohoo! How many of us slobs have been wishing for this???? Again, finally!!!! -It's been reviewed to drive great! The engine, suspension, the rev-match feature, connected steering, etc! - Better aerodynamics must be the real reason on the massive front & rear overhangs, not safety nor anything unintentional. I'm sure, there are many more features of the F to love about. The real reason of the new kid bashing this time maybe something we all hate to admit....ENVY!!!! So there.... Agree?
The differences between R53 and R56 were not as significant as this newest model. The R56 kept a lot of the rough edges that made the R53 such a blast. I just don't like pretty much anything about the F56. The engine felt strained, and it's suspension and suspension were too soft. Those were the major issues for me, besides the design, and those are the most important pieces of a car. I'm not into the whole silent motoring experience. Why I buy a MCS, I want to hear those 4-cylinders, the exhaust, and some forced induction noises - whether they be turbo spool, or supercharger whine. I'm glad someone is buying the F56, because maybe if MINI can stay afloat, they will fire Anders Warming, and the entire engineering team, and hire back the Rover team that helped create the first two cars.
