I dunno. It's really a double whammy. The new euro pedestrian standards result in an ugly car, and now with the added safety, it can't even properly kill you when it hits you. I mean, seriously...when you say "I'd rather be dead than see an F56", just as you're about to be run over by it, you can't even have a properly gruesome demise.

There had to have been a MINI executive or two or three that when presented with the final design approval on this bumper, just had to have wondered if they were making a big mistake..... Shame on them for not standing up and saying "No Frickin Way Is This Going Into Production".......:mad2: Missed opportunity guy's....:mad5:

Mmm I've tried to be open minded but I just can't help it and have to say this. BMW could you possibly have screwed this up any worse? Mechanically there's some great ideas, and some real duds (no dipstick), but this is the most god awful exterior design abortion imaginable. Who on the design team said hmm...yeah catfish are sexy. Oh and lets put tail lights on it that are so huge they can be seen from orbit. The exterior design is a caricature, and a bad one at that. It's a good thing BMW decided to have commonality of parts. Should help lessen the sting when sales suck. Damn sure I'm not going to buy one. I'll stick with the R53 and R56, drive them till the wheels fall off, then buy or build another. (Rant mode off)

After looking at the F56 over and over again, I dont think they are half bad... Just all the pictures show the ugly half!

There should be a factory graphics package that says "It looks better from the other side." That way any perspective on-lookers step into traffic and see what the ugly front end is for!

Looks like an ugly Hot Wheel. BMW should have consulted with the Mattel Hot Wheels design team. They would have done a better job.

I guess I'm old fashioned, but when I think of great car designs, IMHO they still need to look great 20 years from now. This won't.

Nothing wrong with "racer" cars, now ricer (aka SoCal's best), I could understand. :)

DuelL makes some nice stuff, a bit stellar for pricing, but nice. :eek6:

But if they wanted to do a front end for the F56, they could go with a retro look and make some money. :ihih:

I was only using the word 'Racer' to be politically correct Vs the JDM equivalent term.
