Well... Since you asked: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI1RhNFSfGg]YouTube - Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo - Gravity Boots[/ame]
I have college and early 20's neices and nephews, they haven't quite figured out that thing about filtering your thoughts before you write them...:blush2: I asked my sister if she's read some of the things her daughter has been writing since she went off to college and she said "no, I don't need or want to know":nonod: I tend to just scan thru and not read too much into what they write, but sometimes it can be..............uh, erm......interesting.... opcorn:
I am with you. I have a 20+ niece and 16 year old nephew. Some of the stuff they post just makes me shake my head. And then I shut up knowing that I was way worse then that. But I do know where all the latest and greatest clubs are at. If I could just stay up late enough to go. :cryin:
While some of us may have a bit of a checkered past when we were teens or in our 20's we were spared from that showing up on the HR persons monitor when we went for job interviews.
I found this recently and it may be helpful to some: stealth-mode-making-yourself-nearly-invisible-on-facebook: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance
Exactly! That's what I was talking about using the "filter".... So far none of them have written anything horribly incriminating, but a photo or two with underage people holding beer and liqour bottles have shown up. And you all are right, it's nothing we didn't do too, but we had the good sense (or lack of technology) not to brag about it to the entire world!
I am with you 100% The hubby and I won't go near it. Too many security issues and if I want to be in touch with you... well, I would be rrr:
Well Tim, I was wondering why my FB friend count went down again. I find FB interesting although some of the family & friends tend to be TMI. That is why FB has filters and privacy settings. Good link above. Don
Ok please explain to me as a recent and not very often FB user, why if you are going to put yourself into a stealth type mode do you need it in the first place? All my closest friends and family have my phone numbers and email addresses already......
Nuthin' personal I assure you! FB crossed a line. I'll miss the positives mentioned by the rest but the security risk is to great
We use facebook as a means to grow and maintain our Euro car group: www.facebook.com/eurotopia.santamonica
Facebook is great for keeping up with family members and friends.....as long as you have it set up just for those folks and not the general public.
When I took over managing my groups FB pages ( yes multi pages) and saw how much info FB collected about everyone I was shocked. So I for my personal account. I only connect with friends and family. And post very little on it. I would love to get rid of it. But it helps me with my job. But I agree. I think it's a huge marketing thing and has lost it's focus.
