Hey, My 2007 S convertible mini has the factory installed navigation system. My DVD that came with the car when I bought it a couple of weeks ago is SW version 4-1/80 . Its a navteq . Their web site states they no longer supply updates to maps for mini's . Does anyone know where I can get an update ? Thanks
BMW/MINI switched their map provider from Navteq to TeleAtlas. You can purchase updated maps here: http://store.minigpsmaps.com
Just an update, got my DVD map update. Ended up getting it from the dealer, which they charged me the same price as online, and I figured, if they got me the wrong DVD, then I could easily return it. Since Iam new at this, I didn't want to order the wrong one, and have to send it somewhere to return it. When I heard the dealer was gonna charge me the same price, I figured it a no brainer to go with the dealer, since they would know better than me which one was compatible with my car... I see Mercedes, Honda, Ford, & Navteq all have their 2013 DVD out. When does BMW/MINI usually release theirs?
2012 Should be fairly recent then? I have 2008 and it doesn't have my neighborhood that was developed in 2004-2005. I just didn't want to purchase 2012 only to have 2013 come out a month later.
MINI has been notoriously slow in putting out updates. That said, if it was me, I'd buy the current one today and new and updated one would be released tomorrow.
