    Here ya go...

Started out by washing the MINI with Dawn dishwasing liquid to get rid of everything (yes I washed it in the rain...........)

Taped off and getting set to take the claybar to it
    [IMG]

Taped off and getting set to take the claybar to it, you can see some of what I am up against paint swirl wise
    [IMG]

    See the paint swirls?

    PC and some Swirl........gone!

The door, hard to pick up the swirls, could not get the light right, about as bad as the roof/pillars, trust me

meanwhile something like 10 hours later..........

Awesome work, Tim! Although it takes many hours to be so thorough, doesn't feel great when it looks so juicy perfect?! Gotta love it.

Thanks for putting the pics up!

As Dennis Quaid/Eddie said in Christmas Vacation "It's the gift that keeps on giving" !!

On top of that I added a coat of BG before a all british car show here in St. Louis. Lookin' mighty shiny! Course next day took it out on a 300+ mile romp across rural missouri in the rain. It's a mess now! But damn it was allota fun!

Thanks again for all the support Heather!

Ha-ha! Yeah, that's the downside to detailing... of course we want to drive too! (and drive hard whenever possible!) At least the mess will cleanup really easily now and you'll be back to your beautiful shine again. :yesnod:

Always my pleasure to help out!

    2 questions:

    • What is that blue tape? Can I use painters tape that I have around the house or is that something specific for cars?
    • What happened to the other stripe on that poor MINI?

Yep, just painters blue tape from any home center. I cut some down to size to trim around, for example, the hood scoop. Keeps the polish/wax/whatever outta there. (OG tips). tip-when taping off rubber or plastic the painters tape does not like to stick to it. Run the tape about 1/16" to 1/8" onto the paint. No damage, just a little bit of buffing. Compared to trying to keep the polish/wax away from it....priceless.

On the stripes-I was going sooo fast down a missouri backroad that the other one just came clean off. :ihih:
