Oh. The op is one of THOSE customers.
I had my car in for a headlight bulb.
WHAT? You didn't wash and detail my car??
I'm never coming back here again!

Good to see you posted....
Many first time posts/rants on multiple groups are one time "drive by" postings that folks never come back to read...
The MINI experience is more about the people and the cars than about getting a dealer to kiss your butt since you bought a upgraded economy car....
Don't get me wrong, most dealers are very good, and seem to do a good job, but the reality is, I'm sure dealers have priories, and for some reason you got pushed down the list...
Yeah...like I said before, maybe it was too cold, but maybe they were doing a last minutes fix to help somebody, or something....
My interactions with dealers have been limited to a purchase, 2 free services, and a quick drop in no appointment visit in 10 years....oh yeah...they sent me a balloon in a box with cookies a week after I bought my car.....
I sincerely hope you are not one of "those" folks who will never be happy... I might suggest, say "oh well", and a mini is not a land rover...the gen1 cars from 2002-2006 WERE 50% Rover, but let's just say BMW took over the brand for a reason....lol.
Enjoy your new car, its about going for a drive...
If you NEED some hand holding, reach out, and call the dealer...
Telling the world you are not happy before giving them a chance to correct it is " poor form" IMO........-

^^^^ yup I agree with you and BMW Oops MINI like to send out that kind of information but getting the Dealerahip on the same page sometimes is a different story.
Oh and like others have said, do not let them wash your car unless you ike scratches. I don't care what they say they seriously F-up some cars up.-

I might add that it's possible that you already know more about your MINI than your dealer. Hopefully not. And welcome, make yourself at home. Most of us are dedicated MINI nuts.

My local dealer as a full time technology employee who does exactly what you described.
He came to our club meeting and said to call him anytime for any tech questions a new MINI owner may have.
Maybe you just fell through the cracks, call your dealership and arrange an appointment. -
Same post is on 2 other mini sites....
No replies from the op.... -

That's unfortunate to hear. I was contacted by my dealer days after I bought mine...hopefully they make it up to you.

Thanks for the input and advice. I think I'll wait a little longer and then try to touch base with my salesman. While I am not looking for hand holding from the dealership, I actually would like to go over some of the tech elements of the car again. "Second date" and the dealership's printed policies on services (car wash and vacuum after car service)are not items on which I insisted. In fact, second date is a mini sponsored program and the other services are things that the dealer advertises in its printed material. Don't think I am hard to please, just expect businesses to live up to their commitments. After all, that's what I and most other people I deal with in the business world do every day.

It's the one time I get to spend some time by myself doing something I enjoy. -
I took delivery of my 2015 on 10/25/2014. There wasn't any "second date" mentioned.
About 4-5 weeks after I got my 2011 Mini, a goody bag came in the mail but nothing for this one.
I was never contacted by the dealer either, so I don't know if it is the dealership or the policy has changed since then. -

You may be right, but the salesman did mention the second date. It would be helpful to go over some of the gadgets and gizmos that I might be overlooking. But, the members of this board have been helpful, and I am sure I will eventually get acclimated.

Does the dealer have a BMW Store too?
If so you may want to call the Genius at the BMW store, the technology is the same.
BMW Stores now are adding a Genius position much like an Apple Store to help people figure out to drive their new device with wheels.
