Nah, they are only floating 10% of the company in the IPO. The same size block as Piero Ferrari will own. Something makes me think they are are in different voting classes too where the 10% spread out among the rich will have no say. I'd even think there will be quite a few requesting actual certificates to frame and hang on garage walls.

The issue I foresee is they are selling some of Ferrari to play numbers games for the FCA books. The parent company has problems.

    From - http://www.autonews.com/article/20150723/OEM/307239916/ferrari-files-for-ipo-to-raise-funds-for-fiat-chrysler?cciid=email-autonews-daily

The share sale is part of CEO Sergio Marchionne's strategy to raise about $5 billion to cut debt and help fund a 48 billion-euro ($53 billion) investment program that focuses on expanding the Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Maserati brands globally.

"Fiat Chrysler needs the money, but will Ferrari stock perform like a Ferrari?" said Erik Gordon, a law professor at the University of Michigan's business school. "There may be a bit of glamor in owning a Ferrari or, for some, a Ferrari t- shirt, but it is hard to show off a share of Ferrari stock."

    ...

Piero Ferrari, the son of founder Enzo Ferrari, also owns 10 percent and plans to keep his holding. The filing provides for a so-called loyalty share plan, which would give long-term investors more voting power.

    Founders remain

Exor SpA, the investment vehicle for the Agnelli family that founded Italian carmaker Fiat, and Piero Ferrari will probably participate in the loyalty program, according to the filing.

After the spinoff, Exor is due to hold more than 30 percent of the voting power and Piero Ferrari about 15 percent, the filing said. Ferrari's balance sheet as of March 31 included 977 million euros in deposits that belong to Fiat Chrysler's cash pool, according to the filing.
