Okay, I couldn't make this up. My wife is co chair for our local (York-Poquoson) Relay for life. One of the local dealers donated a new Fiat 500 as the grand prize give away car. SO she goes over to pick up up from one of the other relay groups to use it in one of her displays. It won't start! She calls me and asks if there's anything special she has to do to get it started. I thought she was joking at first, but no, it really won't start. So it's been at the dealer since before the weekend. I'm real interested to find out what the problem is/was. I'll keep y'all updated
It's probably out of Gas. Stupid dealers only put 1/2 gal of gas in their cars. That car is probably just out of gas.
This just gets finnier by the moment. Give away one still at the dealer. Still won't start. Give away car two is in my driveway. Actually sat in the car tonight. Very odd little bit. It does have a sport button. Seriously. I pressed it while sitting in it. I even felt sportier. It is a BIG button. Though the car didn't seem any faster, better, quicker. Maybe I should start it next time. It is SMALL. Oh, and a bit ugly too. Anybody that passes up a MINI to buy this thing is worthy of avoidance. Seriously, )if I were to win this car, which thankfully I can't!) I'd donate it back and hope they wouldn't get made at me. I would go move it out to the street, just to clean up the drive, but I'm afraid I'd get a ticket for littering! I actually get to drive it tomorrow! I'm completely underwhelmed. I'll post pics tomorrow.
As an aside there is a Fiat dealer that opened up not far from my house and I swear there are about 100 on this lot. So choice, choices Finally saw one over the weekend driven by what I think is the demographic that I thought would appeal to these cars (early 20's young adult in this case female)
After seeing a lot full of these things, I realized that there is not a set of mods that could make them any sportier. They have to be targeting the college girl market. Because I can't imagine anyone other than that demographic purchasing one...
ALTHOUGH....... It is nice seeing smaller cars on the road rather than GIGANTIC Yank tanks that can't drive, see where they are going or fit in parking spaces properly :incazzato:
I saw one the other day too. The driver was also female, but not in her 20's. Looked to me to be "of a certain age," to put it diplomatically.
I've said this before, but I will again. I don't plan to buy one, but they don't bother me. Like has been said, better they drive a Fiat 500 than some honking big SUV.
If they sell here like they have in Europe, we'll see them everywhere....when I was over there recently I saw more Fix It Again Tony 500's than I did Smart Cars.
