So yesterday at the auto show in Detroit I got to experience the Fiat 500. If that is how Fiat makes its return to the US they should just not waste their time. It was the cheapest feeling car I have ever touched. That is really saying something when a car feels cheaper than the big 3's cars. The Korean car makers are really stepping up their game, the 3 door hatch Hyundai is making is really nice (the load height in the back is really high but the rest of the car is really well done). The Kia's all looked nice and the Chevy Sonic was probably the best feeling American car there and I am 99% sure it is made in Korea. The BIG 3 are terribly disappointing on the inside the dash in the Dodge cars are scary bad. If I bought a Challenger and had to look at the passenger side of the dash every time I drove it I would probably put a sheet over it. The Countryman looks really nice in person, it is much smaller than it looks in pictures. Still not a huge fan of the post R53 interior, but they do a very good job of using materials and design to make it feel special. Last thought is wheel design is really moving forward, Honda had a set of wheels on their CR-Z that were just out of this world and I think one of the Festiva's that also had a great set of wheels. OK one more thought, supercars need to be together. The R8, 458 and LAF all looked nice, but it was hard to get an idea of how big they are because they were not together. I would really like to see a 458 parked next to a base 911 to get a feel for how big it is. Also the badge on the front of the 458 is really cool they float it out in space so it looks like the horse is just suspended in midair. I would still take a ZR Vette over it because I like shifting gears and the details on the Vette are just as good as the Ferrari (they have a carbon fiber wing below the doors that does not show up very well in pictures but in person it just looks special, now get rid of the stupid hood window Chevy!)
Go ahead & buy that ZR Vette. Bring it over & we can plastidip the hood window. Simple! Thanks for the show review.
Oh yes a checkered flag/USA flag will do it. Don't forget to checker the mirror caps! Maybe faux carbon fiber? The possibilities are almost endless.
I guess they could also remove the plastic cover on the engine so the window would see an engine instead of a plastic cover. Also of note is the header and exhaust on the Lexus Hyprid Matrix looks to have been made by a blind guy who had never welded before. The pipe that the header flows into is the size of my leg, anybody know why they use such a large pipe for the exhaust?
That's because all the bad exhaust is changed into fairy dust by the magic of the hybrid process & needs a big pipe to spew all the dust out.
We have some buses with urea tanks on them. The mechanic's told me not to pee in them there tanks. MM wants an exhaust that spews flames & makes burning fairies fall from the sky....
Also of note the Lexus Matrix was as quiet as a library. They pumped rave music into the whole show (weird because all the people there were middle aged dudes) but once you shut the doors you couldn't hear a thing. The only place quieter was in the big Jag, which had a really tall tranny tunnel.
MINI style::lol: I'm diggin that antenna that looks like a stop sign. What vendor carries that? Man makes my chest hairs bristle with anticipation. :ihih: Rally where do you find all these cool cars? :arf:
Unfortunately, the owner thinks he has something very special and is probably very proud of it along with his gold neck chain, hairy chest hairs, white patent leather shoes and sansabelt high waisted pants.:cryin:
