Imitation is the Highest Form of Flattery To imitate someone is to do exactly what they do, to behave like them. To flatter someone is to say nice things to them, often to influence them or make them have a positive opinion of you. So the expression, “Imitation is the highest form of flattery†means that doing something the way someone else does it is actually a compliment to them. You are saying: I am doing this because I like your idea/behavior.
Give me a few to dig up my other half's post over on the Fiat forum. Okay here we go. Enjoy the read. http://www.fiat500owners.com/forum/8-fiat-500-general-discussion-forum/3471-service-issues-kelly-fiat-peabody-ma.html
Reading that forum is exactly what I expected. The 500 is a cheap car that is marketed as an accessory. When you do that people expect it not be so cheap. My point on this thing all along has been that while it is a neat car and nice looking it is a total pile of **** that is going to fall apart every time you look at it. Add to this Chrysler and Fiat level materials and you get a rolling nightmare. Give me BMW design and materials for twice the money any day over Fiat/Chrysler design and materials. In the long run it is the bargin of the century.
I'm not taking sides here, but haven't we seen those same (or similar) complaints about MINI's and their dealerships before? Just saying. :cornut: Jim
Yep we have... Her issues are with the dealer, they seem to be the Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight. It's a shame that while the car was enjoyable the local service was so bad it tainted the ownership experience.
It was a funny, nice, and different car for $20K. Had a lot of people asking about it. Alot of non car people thought it was either a Mini or VW. Who had no clue what a Fiat was. The dealer experience was terrible. And replaced with this.
I can honesty say I have had no complaints about my MINI, but back a year or so ago, I was very upset with my local dealer, to the point of really questioning if I would buy another (I'm sure Crash remembers that). Over the past year, MINI of Baltimore County has really turned around. They seem to have listened to their customers concerns and done something to address them. I have been there twice in the last month and could not be more pleased with the service I received. The dealership you deal with, can make of break your experience, this is true with any brand, but the blame always falls on the car itself, which is not always justified. We own two MINI's now and I am already planning the third. Jim
:cornut: MINI Margi(08 R56 MCS/JCWm) was a garage queen for the first two years that I owned her. Everything that could break on her did but, I just loved her anyway. What really made the differebce was the Dealer, MINI of DALLAS. They always fixed her no problem. Service with a smile. Do you need a loaner Jason. No sir, no charge. For the past year, no problem at all. Yes sir, the dealer makes all the difference in the world. Jason
Fiat is following in MINI's footsteps again, this time it's commercials...and some of them are pretty good. :yesnod: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGaH1Vdwf5k]2013 "Date" Fiat 500L Commercial - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ve4221Knn0]2013 "Sisters" Fiat 500L Commercial - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UliE-nZqVs]2013 "Wedding" Fiat 500L Commercial - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5GRahD6EmQ]2013 "Topless" Fiat Commercial - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flgLqKBzlgg]"Test Track" Fiat 500e TV Commercial - YouTube[/ame]
The commercials are good, very creative. Yesterday I went Fiat dealership to see Abarth, it does sound good, but my R53 2006 is better. I didnt like the gear box and seating position on the Abarth. If going to trade or betrade my Mini it was going to be VW R32 or going higher a Lotus Exige. Even a Lotus Elise.
Ok so some "I am Mr. Cool" in his new FIAT ABARTH pulled up next to me at a light the other day rev-ing his motor. We had two straight lanes wide open in the middle of the day out in the country so.... Well you know me  Let's go buddy. The light turned green and he spun his wheels a little and took off. I watched him leave on purpose to see him launch. I am sure he was all happy with himself thinking he had the jump. I gave him about a 5 car head start. Then I took off in pursuit and wound out 1st and 2nd gear to just over 7k and as I was about to hit 3rd he was looking at me out his drivers window. :eek6::cryin::blush2::lol: I ripped thought 3rd and 4th gears and blew his doors off by what looked like 20-30 yards. :ihih::devil::beer After a good long lead he gave up and we both slowed down and drove for a while. When he caught up he was giving me the thumbs up out his window. He took his a$$ kicking well.
