With a blunt front end the force from impact with a pedestrian will be more distributed and should theoretically cause less harm to the individual.
A little bit about the Fiat "Multi Air" technology.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B82dRiYdCYs&feature=relmfu]YouTube - New Engine Technology for Fiat‏[/ame]
As I drove east this morning to the start of Riverrun for the final checkout I spied a whole lot full of those little 500 creatures over on Scarborough Blvd. As much as I think they are OK it was not a pretty site. I couldn't imagine driving one of those on the Riverrun roads.
Good video it explained a lot I did not understand. I thought Multi air described all the rust hole that will appear in the 500 in a few years. If it is so good why does the 500 not get better mileage & produce more power? Hmmm....
They are starting to pop up all over the roads here. Somebody must like them enough to give it a go. Jim
I'm sure they will sell. They are cute as a bug to a lot of people & a lot of folks want to be first on their block with the latest fashion statement car.
Well then, I'm way ahead of them. Here's the little 500 I drove in Rome back in early '70s. Glad everyone is finally catching up! ....Les

Les, I had one when I was stationed in Vincenza and I really like the little bugger. I don't plan on swapping my MINI, but I kind of like the new one. This is just the 1st Gen of the car, so things will change with time. Jim

I wonder how the uppity ups at Ferrari took to putting their name on the lowly Fiat 500? Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari: Is it worth $47,000? What....No pictures of the special Ferrari tweaked engine????
The Jerrari a meld of a 365GT Coupe and Jeep Wagoneer. Bill Harrah, of Harrah's casion wanted Enzo to make him 4, Enzo said no, Bill had it done. Later on a 1977 Jeep Wagoneer had it's engine swapped. The donor engine in this case came from a Ferrari 365 that was being transported to Harrah's dealership in Reno, Nevada. Apparently it was wrecked so Harrah decided to put the engine into the Jeep.
