Yes a return to the "feared by no one" Navy first envisioned by Carter...... This administration has learned nothing else from history so why should they apply it's lessons to this...:/

Oh that's right, they have their own history books, written to suit their agenda's. ....

    The Federal Pie Chart

Consider the source, but the math checks out.

And even if you don't believe the math, here's the standard gov't accounting figures:

I'm with you on this one. Regarding our military, we have NEVER learned from past mistakes and have gotten caught short because of it time and time again.

Considering that one of the main original functions and mandates of the Federal Government was/is to protect and defend our people, everything within it's shores and our interest abroad, not to feed, clothe, house, provide healthcare, fund the arts, build sidewalks, build museums, and fund studies on such things as why a Duck quacks to name just a few...... 20 to 30% of the money spent by the federal government on that function, seems very reasonable indeed.... ;)

PS: We must remember the lessons of the past, this is not a reasonable planet and sometimes the only way to reason with the unreasonable is from a position of strength. Carry a big stick.

You make another good point. They may poke at you while you have the stick, but put it down and they'll be on you in a flash. It would be very nice if we could all hold hands and play nice in the sand box, but that has never been the case since time began.

Well, I sure like the feel of my MINI's stick shift in my hand... Maybe if we all had MINI's, the world would be a better place. Kumbaya anyone?

I believe you could be on to something here Johngo. Provided there was a button on the stick to activate the two machine guns behind the folding head lights.

Oh, there would the prerequisite driving courses before anyone gets keys... And I prefer artillery as it not only takes out the offending driver and his/her vehicle, it clears the debris, as well.

james bond mini ftw...but ya know i dont mind making money available but lets not cut it out of our ship building funds...how about stop the redundant overspending on consummables...or stop the rampant spending on stuff like universal health care, welfare,etc...im all for health care but not what they passed...answer to welfare...goverment employment...put those deadbeats to work making roads or something...i would rather my tax money go to towards a F18 or a missle than supporting some welfare queen and her 10 kids (aka tax breaks)

Or better yet, getting rid of the excess baggage that is illegal immigration and all of the fools that support it. Why ANYONE in their right mind would support ILLEGAL immigration and the problems it brings in this day and age is beyond me.

Come one, come all, just do it legally.

Funny how he and other geniuses of their time predicted EXACTLY what we would someday face, isn't it? Keep the Constitution. Get rid of the politicians.

Ok, if you feel that strongly about it we could fit a couple of 122 rockets behind your head lights. First you take the driving signs/rules test and then the aiming/targeting procedure test. Next comes a trip around the block to show driving skills, then off the the firing range. Wow and you thought your MINI was fun to drive now.

Forget who said it first but all Democracies will end when the people find out that they can get money, not by working for it but by simply voting for it.....
