Just got reply from Condor. The 1st 5 kits were sent w/o the write up.

Condor Power steering Delete Install Procedures

    1. Remove your power steering system. This includes the pump, FL4 100A PS Pump fuse in the enine bay fuse box, lines, and reservoir. You can have access to the two banjo bolts from the driver side, so you remove the wheel, put an oil pan under the rack, remove the bolts and install the delete.

A SAFETY NOTE: Before deleting, REMOVE the FL4 100A Power Steering Pump Fuse in the engine bay fuse box. Da_Ghost shared this procedure:
"The FL4 100 amp fuse for the power steering is UNDER the fuse box (for my 2005 at least). You need to disconnect the battery, remove the positive cable on the fuse box and the two bolts holding the box, then flip it over and remove the cover. There's 2 or 3 fuses under there, just make sure it's the correct one you're taking out and they are held by torx screws."

    2. Turn your rack full lock from one side to the other side 3-4 times. This removes unnecessary fluid.

    3. Slide 1 washer onto the smaller banjo bolt. Slide the delete onto the smaller banjo bolt. Now slide 1 washer onto the same smaller banjo bolt. Your delete should be sandwiched between 2 washers on the smaller banjo bolt.

    4. Slide 2 washers onto the larger banjo bolt. Slide the larger banjo bolt with the 2 washers onto the delete. Now slide 1 washer onto the larger banjo bolt.. Your delete should be sandwiched between 3 washers on the larger banjo bolt.
    467530A8-41F6-4989-A275-353527E29B55_zps97g6u472.jpg

    5. Install your delete onto your rack by tightening your banjo bolts.

    6. It is important to make sure you do not over *tighten it. You do not want to crush the UHMW.

Grats, r34king! How does it compare to driving w/ a dead pump? How much fluid did you extract from the rack? Any shortcut tips?
    Thanks for sharing this feedback.

How so you like it in turns at speed? "Thinking Dragon transitions"

I am not worried about low speed "parking lot" turns.

How would you rate it on a 1-10 scale?
    1= dead pump
10 = good working OEM pump.

I'd say maybe 3-4 Dave. Its very heavy steering under braking because of weight shift. I think after a few days you wouldn't notice it much. But its a lot different than power steering

I'm not trying to start a bru-ha-ha, but I work for a front axle manufacturer and if the above listed instruction for tightening any fastener is given instead of a torque spec and an accident would happen, I don't think a jury will be very impressed with "spin the bolts in with your fingers and then go 1/4 turn further....". Just sayin'

Not about to argue with you. I've stated my opinion because I've had the experiences of sitting in that chair next to the judge. Every fastener has a torque spec. for optimum performance. Listing it doesn't transfer liability it simply implies knowledge.

Pump some iron while vacationing, Dave. You might even rate the steering feel an 11 on city traffic & parking.:D

Street pretzels sound like an adventure. Like playing roulette with hepatitis a stomach virus and a tasty snack. You are guaranteed to win at least two of three. This explains why my parents never took me and my sister there when we lived nearby.

    LOL!

Yeah, I really dont care about how hard parking will become either... Just wanted to know how it feels with a given tire (hard and narrow) to convert that to wide and sticky like we choose to run. ;)

I bought mine today, out of all of you that have installed can you list what other weight reduction your car has? This may help to get a gauge of how much the steering improves post delete and how much easier it gets no ps with less weight.

The reason I have bought it is because I'm building a race Mini, I will be removing air con, heater core, oil exchanger, dash, seats, a ton of unused metal etc, my guess is that once I've taken all this out the delete should feel more like a 5-6 than a 3-4

    Time for another update.

I've put another few hundred miles on the car since changing the wheels/tires and I'm going to keep the delete. Decided yesterday when I realized I'm back to thinking up excuses to go to the store (and going for a drive anyway when I can't think of a specific excuse) just because it's fun!

I think I would think otherwise if I needed to do much parallel parking. I remember smiling once about a MINI with a personalized license plate - EZ2PARK - because it was so true.....not so much without a functioning PS system. I find myself thinking more carefully while choosing parking spaces but as long as it's not parallel parking, it's doable. On the other hand, I've been in some very tight parking garages in the past which I think would be a real fight with the delete. Haven't tried that yet...

Driving is interesting and, once you get used to it, fun. It takes a bit more muscle to turn, though after this much time I couldn't even begin to estimate how much.

I'm enjoying it, but here's a little insight into my mindset that you should consider if you're reading this and trying to decide if it's for you. Before I deleted my PS system, if you'd driven or even ridden in my car you'd have noticed a lot more NVH than most people are willing to put up with. I've carefully chosen mods, in part because I like tactile feedback from the engine, the suspension, etc (hmmm, probably need to update my Garage). I'm now feeling more of the road through the steering wheel. I like it, some would not. Without a powered assist to insulate from the dips and bumps, etc, I'm feeling them more as the wheel moves in my hands. Not much at all on a straight road, but definitely while turning the wheel at a corner.

One more reference. Those 7.5" wheels I switched to (see above) are on 225/45-16 tires. I assume narrower tires - thus a smaller contact patch - would make this mod even easier to get used to.
