I would agree there that the delete kit would help than running with a dead PS pump. I think my U/J where under attack from me fighting with the LSD. Without the PS I had to really apply some effort to steer around the tight bends, with the PS I don't feel the LSD . A U/J upgrade for sure would be something to think about.

    Keep the improvements coming

    Ok I have one question?

What is it made of? Never mind......Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra-high-molecular-weight_polyethylene

I guess I have a part to buy tomorrow.

Is it a bad idea to have fluid in the rack with this mod done? And what are the black plugs on the bottom?

This part has just come out today so we will have to wait and see after a few are installed and reviewed.

interesting in hearing what people think of this. Wouldn't mind losing the power steering and all the weight it brings.

Thanks Dave.o. I know it just came out. It just seems that having the rack full of fluid and being able to cycle through the adapter would be better than just air. But maybe not. I've never done a PS delete before. But plan on getting one of these asap

It looks like we will have fluid and air in the rack and this allows them to flow back and forth better then total non power steering with a PS dead pump.

Thanks, Dave, you beat me to it. :)
Remember to remove most of the fluid off the rack by steering side to side w/o the banjo bolts on. The less fluid left results in lesser steering resistance. Whatever is left in shall be for rack lube.

Thanks minsanity, I just placed my order #2269 but it will have to wait until sometime is August to be installed. I have some traveling coming up.

I am sure they will be shipping it with instructions or I will be calling Condor or sending you a PM for assistance. :D:confused5:

    Did you order yours yet?

My factory ps pump is supposedly covered under a recall. I'd rather install one of these than go back with another ps pump. I drove a (don't laugh too much) kia rio with a 5 speed and factory ps delete. It wasn't mine, it was just on the lot during my very short career as a car salesman. I actually liked it. I wonder if I could get a check from mini usa for the recall, get one of these and spend the difference on suspension upgrades. Either way, I'll be ordering one of these in the near future.

Nope. It was just wishful thinking. I'm sure it's never really gonna happen like that. I'd still rather delete it than have it replaced. I'm just waiting to see how others with lots more MINI experience than me feel about it.
